When I worked at a AC dealer the briggs coils went bad and we would install a automotive coil for better spark.

Setting the valves on Kubota D600 and others

Don, use .006 feeler gauge and it should have slight resistance. You don't want them to tight because the valves won't seal completly. I try to go in the middle of the spec's. I work on diesels everyday and haven't had any problems. You can look at the manual in the manual section at this...

Don you can use a self tapping screw that will go in and grip the zerk and try prying it out or if the screw is the right size and long enough just screw it in and it will hit the spindle and force it out, BTDT

    Kt17s series 2 wont run in 782

I believe Matt & Jeremiah are right about it poss. being the fuel pump. NAPA handles Kohler and their brand fuel pumps and could save you some money.

    Diesel Swap?

Joe the parts look-up should show how the pto is mounted and give you a idea how it hooks-up. Also you can go under the manuals look-up and see if it shows the pto set-up. If you need pictures I have a 782D that I can try to get pictures and send them to you.

    Dead 1512 Glow Plugs

the thing that looks like a lightbulb in the wiring diagram is a wire coil that is a indicator that heats up to indicate the heat of the glowplugs. The glowplugs should get 12v even if the indicator is faulty. Joe's testing of the glowplugs is a good test, but also test the voltage the indicator...

Anthony, does your eletric fuel pump run with the key on? Also I don't know what you are talking about the fuel leak at the throttle plate? there isn't a throttle plate in that injection pump that I know of. did you check your fuel filter and if so was it blackish colored?

Lonny, the sound of your hydralic problem could be the rod is bent or possibly the piston came loose from the rod. I've seen lots of cylider do that after a hard hit,the sudden impact is so quick that the relief valve does'nt have time to open and damages the cylinder. The good news is that some...

    1282 Electric PTO Question

If i'm not mistaking I belive there is a relay in the clutch system, I would check that. Heat will cause relays to quit working, possible to much current draw.

Rebuilding a PS unit?? Anybody actually ever do it???

I don't know about the 2072 steering, but rebuilt one for a freind that went in his 982. They could be about the same, not to bad to do but they have to be timed properly. The reseal kit wasn't to pricey, but you must have a manual to make sure the marks are lined up properly, to work right.
