I just found the answer on the large battery box, but when they switched to the smaller battery box, was it a clean break, or gradual phase in production?

Hey Guys, Could I get advice on the 100 grill? Was there only one design, or perhaps two? Also, The one I found has the larger battery box. Was this common for the 100, or a special option? and lastly were the steering wheel that matches the 1x2/3 series used later in the production (instead of...

Hi Guys, I spent many hours yesterday on my 123 and the main source of my frustration were two bolts in the front (holds mule drive)on the outside of the frame. OF the main two front bolts, the second had a screw head on a regular bolt. WHY did IH use a screw head bolt instead of a hex head? I...

Paul K., Yes--the hand held vacuum I have on a EZ Vac rear mount. And if you can't find leaves, go get a ladder 'cause it'll suck the leaves, (and bark)right off the tree and maybe even the neighbors stocking cap. The only problem is the rear mount is small and fills up too quick. Paul W...

Paul W., Roland, Todd C., Kendell, and others, Great to find out you all are from Michigan. I'm in Hillsdale county. I don't post often because I'm tied to my work, but whenever I get the chance I plug into the Forum to learn from the best. We've been snowthrowing with our 149 on my 800 ft...

Kevin, Tom, Charlie, and Roland, Thanks for your answers on the tires for the 70/100's. I had an uncle who after he bought his new 70, must have later replaced the front tires with the wide ones. I remember him switching when I was just kid...it would have been the early seventies. Did the...

Howdy Fellas, Two questions that you guys will laugh at--but I'm gonna ask anyway. 1) Some of the pan seats I see have vent holes in them. Some are obviously solid except for the bolt hole, or the break in the seat. IHCC I know had the solid seat on the Original, we also had similarly...

Hey IH Fellas, Haven't posted in a while, but have been watching. I have a 123 that has worn the dowel drive pin opening so that the pin falls out. Any fixes short of a new drive shaft? I really don't need another project... Thanks

Tom, I was cussin so loud my wife came out into the garage and told me to hold it down 'cause she could hear me inside. I've got the old 149 my dad bought me (new) when I was about 10. Now I'm fixin 'er up so my 8 year old son can help me mow. Sometimes we learn the hard way.

Rick, I appreciate knowing now what the issue must have been. I guess I shouldn't assume dealers necessarily know the details... Now I'll try to go fix the damage. Thanks

Hi Guys, I'm about ready to scream. I just had finished the hood, cast iron front, etc. which I painted on my 149. I mounted the new hinge, and when it tipped forward, it cracked the paint on the corners and in the center near the hinge. What did I do wrong? It was a new hinge for a 149...

Hey Guys, Is there any difference in the shredders IH made, other than narrow vs. wideframe? I had a guy tell me there were two different kinds (tractor mounted)and I was not aware there were any other differences... And would a Haban 402E, Series K, Model number 204357 fit a narrow frame...

Good Morning Fellas, I've been approached by someone with a IH "Windbreaker" for sale. I know that it would be for a narrow frame (it came off of a 100). But would it fit an Original? and Do we have pictures? I am assuming this is not a cab. Maybe it is..... Thanks for any info you can...

Hey Guys, I'm thinking about taking a maiden voyage to the IH show in Portland, IN. I have been "told" that it is this weekend Aug 27-28. But we've never been there. Can anyone confirm that it is this weekend? And how good of a show it is?

Hey Fellas, As always thank you in advance for your help. I have a 149 with a shuck in the front axle. I'm positive the pivot pin wasn't greased properly but I'm not sure what is worn. I havent' taken it apart yet, but is it the pin that is probably worn out, or does the axle wear as well...
