    Parts Wanted K321A for 147 / 149 Wanted

Conn rod just let go in my 149. Cracked the block. Looking for replacement engine (K231a). Would consider buying a whole tractor. I'm in Ottawa, Canada, but would consider am willing to drive to North Eastern states to pick up. If you have something, let me know. Thanks

Once and a while (and getting more frequent) when I go to start my 149, I'll get nothing happening. If I had turn the starter/generator to a new position it will start. Any thoughts on what would cause this?

I had a bit of an accident with my (QA42a) snowblower. The spindle/shaft on the sprocket end of the auger now slides in and out and spins inside of the sprocket. Is there any reason I can't throw a couple of weld tacks between the shaft and the sprocket to keep the shaft in place? Thanks

    Simple tire size question

I got given a little dump cart to pull behind my 149, but it needs new tire tubes. Tire size written on the tire is 4.00-4. All I can find locally are 11x4.00-4 tubes. Anybody know if they are equivalent? Thanks,

Charlie, I probably spent an hour looking at the parts pages, and I can't figure out which part is the circled one. Can anyone help?

I snapped off the clamp (circled in blue) for the throttle cable. (should have know it didn't need that last turn to tighten it). Does anyone know the part number(s) to replace it? Is my local small engine place likely to have a generic version that might work? Thanks

Kraig, Thanks for those links on concrete weights. Donald, thanks for the info on the throttle friction nut, I bet that's the solution. One last question. How much weight is ok to put on the rear hitch. If I put 100-150 lbs on there am I going to break something?

Hi all, Two questions. First, I'm going to be using my QA-42A snowblower on my 149 for the first time this year. I have chains, but it still looks like the blower is taking a fair bit of weight off the rear. Am I likely to need weight on the rear? If so, how much are you using? If...

I'm about to rebuild my K321. Do I need to go full Kohler genuine parts, can can I get away with aftermarket parts? Any particular parts you recommed should be Kolher? Any particular aftermarket brands you recommend, or recommend I stay away from? Do any of our sponsors sell rebuild...

Paul, the measurement on the set screw id much appreciated. Thanks

Kraig, If you could measure it that would be fantastick. The screw on the other end is also solidly rusted in place so I can't remove it to measure. Thanks again.

Kraig, Thanks I noticed that was listed in the parts lookup, but after drilling out the screw, 3/8" seems too big. I'm hoping someone has one they can actually measure. It's the set screw oposite the key on the end of the shaft that connects to the blower that I'm interested in.

Thanks for all the answers so far on my QA42A. It's almost rebuilt, but I have one last question. What is the size (I think it's 5/16) and number of threads/inch for the set screw on the drive shaft (the shaft that runs from the gear box to the small sproket shaft). I've had to drill it...

Finally got my QA42A that's been sitting for 15 years all apart. Now I have a few questions: 1) I don't have spacers 14 & 8 on the parts diagram below. Can anyone tell me the size of these, and explain where they go so I can make some new ones. 2) What is the purpose of clip #23 on the...

Thanks all for the responses on the cutting edge. I assumed it wasn't an available part. I'd much rather buy than build as free time is somewhat limited. I should have checked with the sponsors as I think I've kept a few of them in business as I rebuild this tractor and various implements...

Can someone post a picture of the cutting edge on a qa36a/qa42a snow blower. My neighbour who plowed my driveway for beer money has moved - so I need to restore my snow blower that has been sitting out and rusting for 15 years. Before I got it it sat in the grass and the cutting edge and...

I rebuilt the carb on my 149 a couple of years ago. The choke cable was stuck so I disconnected it, and simply reached down and moved the choke leave by hand. I got tired of that and bought a replacement chock cable from one the supporting vendors - but now my choke works backwards - the...

Thanks to those who responded to my previous questions. I've got another one. On my 149, the link is missing from the brake pedal to the hydro control (so that when you press on the brake it goes into "neutral"). I think what I'm missing is parts #14 and 15 in the drawing. It's clear how...
