Steve. If you haven't done so already, make sure you measure and stake the the governor gear shaft in the correct location. They are known to back out and then the the gear will fall off into to case.

    1572 Diesel Turbo Install

Steve, I've got a 882 into a 782D conversion coming up in my future and was wondering what type/brand of paint that you used for the red parts? Looks like they glossed up nice. I painted an Farmall H a couple years ago with single stage urethane enamel and I am not sure if I wanted to go that...

    1572 Diesel Turbo Install

Steve. Good eye. That pic was taken at your plow day in 2008 if I remember correctly. Come to think of it, that was the last one I was even able to make it to. Your glow plug indicator setup looks very familiar to the one I just installed a couple days before you posted yours. I drilled...

    1572 Diesel Turbo Install

Thanks guys. I'll just re-tap it. Guess I should've read the entire thread instead of drooling over the pics and dreaming about putting a turbo on mine.

    1572 Diesel Turbo Install

Question for Steve & Rick Beem. Did you guys reuse the original Kubota water temp sender wih your new gauges or find a 1/8-28 BSP sender to match the threads in the head? I have an 882 with a bad water temp gauge and I can not find a new gauge kit with a 1/8 BSP sender included.

Willam, Starret calls it a speed indicator but it is more of an RPM counter. There were two different rubber tips that came with it. Each rotation of the dial is 100 RPM. To use it, one would place the indicator tip into the center drill mark on the end of a rotating shaft and count the...

I'm gonna back Andre on this one... I have a friend that had a mid to late 80's New Idea Round baler and it had the very same goodyear tires on it for gauge wheels. Go to tractorhouse.com and search used New Idea round balers. They might not all have used goodyears but the couple I looked...

    Mini Hay Racks/running gears

Take a look at these. I think Glen Erickson might know where these are made at. Kory Farm

Rick Beam that's one sweet original you have in the works there. Keep us up to date on the progress. You might know the answer to this question off the top of your head. I'm working on some plans for a 9 speed gearbox similar to the M&W one. Since cub transmission gears are readily...

Wyatt, Yes mine has the tan interior. The window sticker calls the color of mine medium toreador red. I've got the regular 3.55 axle (no differential lock). You would think that the locking differential would come with the 4x4 off road package.

Wyatt, Nice truck! Toreador Red? My '99 is the same color only it has the harvest gold lower trim. Of course it has the cracked drivers door and the infamous rust starting on the bottom of the doors. I wish I had the 5.4L the 4.6L does not like trailers. Other than that I love it!

Don, I think you are right. I measured the bore and it is .010 over. The piston is/was a std. The guy who owns it said it was burning a lot of oil before it quit. Thanks.

Anyone ever see a piston come apart like this? What would cause it to break off on the oil scraper ring? I have a feeling that some carbon flaked off the head and got in between the two and the piston gave out.

Frank M. It's coal fired. I got this quote from www.261.com "We usually burn a soft bituminous stoker coal which has good heat content and seldom clinkers up."

I got to see #261 twice today on its way through Tiskilwa to and from Bureau JCT on the old Rock Island Line. I've only seen #261 once before and it was moving about 60 mph the first time. Today it was only doing about 20 -30 through town. What a sight! Here are some pictures of the monarch...

I seen a nice snowblower setup Tuesday night on my way home from work. A guy had what looked like a IH 5488 (no front assist) with a 3pt twin chute snowblower. He was clearing his lane and was about a 1/4 mi off the road. I couldn't tell who made the snowblower but, it was the same green color...

Thanks Kraig... For you hunters, if you would like to see one of the bucks that Kraig was refering to, I updated my profile picture. I'll stitch the pictures of the two bucks together later and update my profile again. To keep this on topic, I've been reworking a QA36 snow thrower I got...

Where are you guys with the Titan Tru Power tires purchasing them at? None of the tire shops in my area can get them. I see Cedar Rapids Tire has them listed on their web site. I just thought I would do a little comparison shopping. Thanks!
