Tractor Wanted Wanted to buy - decent condition narrow frame

Mark, that's a very fair price. I had a 125 for 25 years and loved it. The hydro was absolutely rock solid. However, the 125 took almost twice as much fuel to mow a two acre lot as my upgraded 105 (a model 73 upgraded to a rebuilt K241). Is the K301 in good shape? Does it burn any oil? Has it...

Tractor Wanted Wanted to buy - decent condition narrow frame

Hi Bret - I like the 104 and I've rebuilt a couple of K241s with amazing results. I saw a 72 in Columbus that is rough but would be fine for hauling a trailer and would also be a good use for my K181. I'll plan to follow up on this one and if it doesn't work out I will touch base with you again...

Tractor Wanted Wanted to buy - decent condition narrow frame

Hi Bert - Sounds nice: spring semester will be over then. Is the tractor in decent shape? Do you have a price in mind? Thanks! Glen

Tractor Wanted Wanted to buy - decent condition narrow frame

I had a 125 for 30 years and always wanted a matching 124! I talked to Terry about his tractor; however, our schedules did not seem to match. Thanks for the heads up!

Tractor Wanted Wanted to buy - decent condition narrow frame

I've had no responses to my request for available narrow frames. Surely somebody needs a little cash to pay off Christmas bills! The tractor could have a bad engine (I have a good K181 sitting around). A deck would be nice, but I am basically looking for a manual gearbox tractor to pull trailers...

Tractor Wanted Wanted to buy - decent condition narrow frame

I still have have a lot of old stencils lying around: you never know when you might need to draw an accurate ellipse! However, the one in the photo is a little special. It is an official IBM flowchart template. I bought it in 1979 in my Fortran programming class at Ohio State University (EG 200...

Tractor Wanted Wanted to buy - decent condition narrow frame

That's truly impressive, John. I never earned my pay at a drafting board and only had a student starter set. I often find myself transferring a measurement and thinking, "I wish I had a set of dividers handy"!

Tractor Wanted Wanted to buy - decent condition narrow frame

My work tractor for a quarter-century: a much modified Model 73: I had used a 125 for about 10 years. It was a nice tractor, but the fuel cost to mow two acres was eating me alive. I was saving a Model 73 and decided to use it instead. The K181 wasn't too happy about spinning a 42 inch deck...

Some of the displays I supplied for the spindle redesign project. Any of you old-timers recognize that green thing in the photo?

Tractor Wanted Wanted to buy - decent condition narrow frame

Tell me about it, Jkoenig! I happen to live in the hometown of our beloved tractors. I'm a mechanical engineering professor at at the University of Louisville. I teach a couple of machine senior-level machine design courses, and I often assign design projects to my students that involve...

Tractor Wanted Wanted to buy - decent condition narrow frame

After 35 years of owning as many as 10 of these tractors, I moved to the city and sold my last one two years ago. I am now building a new retirement house with a two acre lot down on the Mississippi Gulf coast and would like to buy a final IHCC for my retirement years. I am looking for a narrow...

Wyatt, That's a good suggestion about trading the old head. The thread insert is the only problem; the head isn't warped or anything like that. This 100 came with a "pepper shaker" muffler, so I'll probably stick with that look. I can't remember if the bolts need to hold down the top...

Hi folks, I used to visit the "other" IHCC website," but it seems to have evolved into more of a social club than a problem solving forum. Not that I mind socializing, but heaven knows, my 5 Cub Cadets have loads of problems! The most recent involves a 100 with a newly rebuilt K241 (0.01...
