    Thought I was done

I’ve had my driveshaft out, new flex coupling and new rear coupling to the pump from Jeff. There was a leak from the pump input shaft so I replaced it with a National 471466 which was a cross from a C/R 2863. Leaks like sieve! Is there some quirk to the seal type or ?? that I’m not aware of? Can...

    Filter/fluid change

Water/condensation contamination from sitting under a shed for 20 years was kind of unsettling to me. I pulled the rear cover and wasn’t quite prepared to see what ran out. I’ll attempt a video here. I raised the front, let it drain, wiped then rinsed it out before changing the filter and...

    Spindle (knuckle) swap

My 129/149 has 3/4” spindles and I notice the 1200-up/82 series have 1” spindles. Anyone swapped the 3/4” out for the 1” ones, because bigger is better you know.

A good morning in the Old Man’s Garage

SHE LIVES!!😀 After resting in a corner of my shop my 129 has awoken this morning. Basically a fuel tank cleaning/coating and a carburetor rebuild and she fired up pretty easily. I’m pleased with the results. Now fluids and filters change is first. Then to work on the sloppy steering and figure...

    Knowledge base questions

I’ve had several Cub Cadets none newer than my 14 hp 129, that I’m getting back in shape. I bought a CCC782 a couple weeks back in unknown condition, you know just because the bug has bit me. Now there’s a 1872 near me, likely bad motor. School me on the differences and opinion me the better of...

    New to the site

Greetings. Thanks for having me. I’m in the Charlotte area, Denver specifically. I first mowed on a Cub Cadet about 60 years ago, my Dads. Over the years I’ve had numerous CC’s a couple pictured here. I completely restored my 129 in the late 1980’s including a new 14 hp...

Parts For Sale Early Original? Hitch for trade

I have , if I recall correctly, a hitch for an Original Cub Cadet with part number 376566R1 on it. It has the mounting bracket, again if I recall correctly, to mount to the transaxle housing instead of to the frame. I need one for my CCC 782 and will sell it but would prefer to trade someone. Thanks
