My Magnum is like the block on the left in that FAQ link that you posted. I already know about the integrated starter vs starter gen combo, never thought about the oil fill differences. I do not know the length offhand. One advantage to the Magnum is the lack of points to worry about and the...

Engine interchange question I have 2 QL's (soon to be 3!) and a 129. The 1250 and 129 run, do not have the 1450 home yet to see. I also have a freshly overhauled, yet to be fired Kohler Magnum M12 sitting here. Wide base engine. Would it be possible to swap this Magnum into any of...

Another Q; this one on a 1200; How tight do I tighten the rag joint attatching bolts?? Squash the snot out of it? Squash it a little and double-nut? Somewhere in between? I'm surprised this thing don't either have sleeves in the holes or else shouldered bolts. I already have to "eat" $200...

The pix of the "Original" today are "great timing" as my 16 yr old son is finishing the disassembly of his for sand blasting and a repaint. One issue we have is an oil leak that comes from the internal brake lever area; are seals/gaskets available for this gear case? Decals; is there a...

Brought another one home; (actually the kid did) I went to a farm sale/estate auction in hopes to bring home hydraulic press that went for about double what I was willing to spend ($450---yow) and they had what appears to be an Original to be sold; K 161S engine, ser no 40723 which appears to...

    Kohler block interchange// (welder>Ariens)

OK; First off I know the cranks are different. so what; I only need a block. I was just given an Ariens S-16H the other day! Tiller, deck plow and more. All shaft drive (incl the rear PTO) very heavy duty; Cannot beat it for the price. Even if I scrapped it (not likely) I'd be ahead of the...

COOL!!!! THANKS AGAIN!! It's together once again; midnight so I think I'll wait til daylight to try it out; boy, I didnt know there was THAT much pressure on the spring! Of course I got this tractor with a blown-missing clutch disc (the 3 pieces were laying on the deck when I pulled it) that...

Uhhh actually Frank yeah that was the same one; I just went out into the garage and looked again; but if you look at the components of the shaft, between the pic and the line drawing, there are differences in "pecking order"; look at the spacer with the grease zerk, as well as the teaser spring...

No Frank; I dont remember even FINDING that one; the one I found was strictly the shaft ONLY no pedal, etc; yours, as Rich's, are both much better than what I was otherwise able to find. and I have now about 3-1/2 hours in digging on the computer! THAT is the aggravating part!
