Does anyone know if this is factory or not? I would love to have one for my cubs!
Sorry for the first pic being blurry.

Charlie,

Maybe it wouldn't be OT if I had it tied to one of my cubs!

Has anyone ever made a small hay bailer for a cub cadet? Heck, you probably have one!

You got the cool toys man! I can't wait!
On the cub side I assessed what I need to move 102 and 104 w/cab home. 3 front tires and my winch.

Marty G. For awhile we could have used one of those around here the grass grew so fast. Now the ground is so saturated the grass is growing and it's too wet to mow.

Now the 1250 axle is out of the parts cleaner,

Other than the obvious questions here, post and/or pre-heating, percentage of Nickle content rod selection, peening and/or stress relieving,,,,

I'm wondering if anyone might have any thoughts weather this axle could or should be used???

Welds actually look decent, looks like repair is consistent inside webbing of axle and under side of webbing flanges also,,, its welded all the way around.......

My original thinking was to get this axle all cleaned up,,,
Check the spindle bolt spacers for NASCAR left turn only sl0p and paint so next time I work on 149,,,,
I would have "This Axle" Ready to go,,, along with New front tires, 1250 rims w/ new bearings, and all new ball joints, to make quick swap....

Well that "was" the plan till the discovery of what appears to be a massive repair job,,,,, I might just hold off till 149 axle comes out and then decide which axle to go with,,,

Jason-

I wouldn't give a second thought to using that axle. It looks like it was done by someone that knows cast welding. I've got a couple of axles that have been welded and are working fine. It's such an out of sight place too.

.

Jason -
Don't know if it be worth it, but I would see if you could get that axle tube welded by someone, then you could have a backup if you break another tube. Ha ha

Yeah I've been under the parts 1250 several times now scavenging parts, and as you mentioned I've never even seen it, a little reassurance is probably all I needed, Thanks,,,
I'll definitely go ahead w/ the cleaning and painting

Austin

Hahaha, never know the 149 axle could need repairs rite now, it hasn't been out since I purchased the tractor, backup parts ready to go are always a good thing,,,,

Nothing wrong with a weld repair on an axle, and that one looks much better than most!!!!!

.....she might break it over your head if she saw how you cleaned it!!!!.....if it is a good weld, it will break at a new spot!!!!!

Times 3 to what Dave and Steve said!

Mr. Bundy won't be able to help you I think!!!

Jason - hmm, lets see. Do you fill up those little cuts on the 149 axle and re-use, or do you use the unknown but looks nicely welded 1250 axle? You got a real dilemma!

I do know one thing for certain - you need a new parts washer!!!

Hey all you guys in the Davenport IA area - did you know Mecum Auctions was coming to town? I didn't know they handled tractors. Got this link from my son and looks like they have a pretty nice Original. I've never seen one with the stickers on the Oil Bath Air Cleaner. Were they on the Originals from the factory?
