When I switched engines this is what I found.

This Kohler condo was in the usual place right above the flywheel next to the head. It'd be nice if mice knew how to go outside to use the bathroom. The inside bottom of the flywheel shroud had started to rust badly because of their waste.

There were no survivors.
 
Thats just.. Life? lol.. Surprisingly, even though it sat outside forever, I didn't find anything like that in the 109.
