I have an 1872 Cub Cadet SGT with a 46" mower deck, Haban Sickle Mower, metal Cozy Cab, Cat '0' 3 pt hitch, and power angled front plow. The tractor is powered with an 18HP twin Kohler magnum. Never had a problem starting. It has a new battery and front tires. The tire chains, and Cub Cadet...

Scott, I was looking at smallenginewarehouse also a while back. I think the only difference is the PTO shaft for the 2072 is larger but the Honda engine comes with a sleeve on it so all you have to do is go without the sleeve or buy a 2072 PTO. My Kohler is running good now but in the future...

Steve, Thanks, I did change the fuel pump. I also had exhaust coming out the left head. I have it back together and it runs like a champ. No bogging down. Smokes a bit, mostly the oil and gas that sprayed all over not totally cleaned off yet but it should make it through the summer. Is...

Mike, Thanks for the info. Something defiately needs to be done now because my crankcase is filled with gas. Possible fuel bowl float is stuck? Went to start it today and she turned over real slow and spit gas and oil out the dipstick tube. I just want to make it through the summer mowing...

I just picked up a SGT 1872 and do not know a lot about them. I have ordered the complete manual set and they are on there way. The price was right so I had to get it. Only has a couple problems. The first is it only has a 46" deck and the second problem is when I turn on the PTO with the...

A little more on tillers. What are the differences between #1, #2, and #2b?

Kraig M. & Jim D. Thanks for the info on the X82 lift bar. Another question about the diagram Kraig posted. Do I need the #8 bracket to hook it up and are they still available?

I have a question on a sleeve hitch lift bar for a 682. I have seen bars with a single bend for wideframe and a bar with 2 bends. Which bar do I need? The attachment guide says a 682 uses 190-381.

Kenny, There is a picture of the curved brackets in the Aug 27,2004 archive. I have a 682 with a QA42A blower. I do use the straight brackets and it seems to work for me. I never really looked that close at it. I'm not sure if you can get the curved bars but the pulley is still available...

Kraig & Steve Thanks for the comments on the blower for 682. I don't think it pushes up on the grill because I hit a rock last year that just about threw me over the hood. The chute is close but it's clear and can rotate all the way around. I'll have to look at a bit closer when I hook it...

I have a question on the QA-42A/B blower. I saw a discussion on Aug 27th about the upper links need to be curved for a 682. I have a 682 with a blower that has the straight links and to me it works just fine. What is the reason for the curved links?

Kraig, Sorry for the misspelling of the name, I’m sure you get it all the time. Thanks for the info, I think I’ll see what I can find and try to do it.

Craig, I do not have a hydraulic lift and you are correct, I have access to a cheap tiller with a hydraulic motor. If I also run the hydro lift, I will also need put in a dual valve like the one posted in the April 6 archive? I see a 782 complete lift setup on Ebay, which I see listed every...

I'm looking for some help with a 682. I would like to put rear hydraulics to run a tiller. Is this possible and if so, what do I need to accomplish this? Or is it more work than it's worth and I should go out and trade up for a tractor with rear hydraulics?

Kraig- That helps a lot. I looked underneath and I don't really know what the #5 is going to hook onto. I'm new to the cub and just trying to get a few things figured out before I buy attachments for it. It seems that the sleeve hitch is the most widely used for the rear attachments. I...

I have an opportunity to purchase a hydraulic tiller off a simplicity. It is a sleeve hitch attatchment. Problem is I have a 682 and no rear Hydraulic connections. Is it possible to make this attachment work off the hydro drive pump? If so, what do I need to do this?
