With some winter weather headed our way this weekend, it was time to put the blade on the 128. Hasn't been started in awhile, but fired right off! I may swap out the rear turfs from my OT tractor and pick up some chains for good measure.

Bruce N., You and Brian have me beat on the cub count. I am at two for now, one wide one narrow. I still want to get over that way, one of these days.....

Brian L., nice find on your 129! I thought it was an "unspoken" thing... but the wideframes are to go to the east side of "The Big Ditch". Narrow frames to the west!

I can't swallow the reason for leaving the B-gears out, because they are "too" hard to reinstall. Don't get me wrong, I have yet to remove or install any. If you take an engine down to the point that "parts" need to be left out to put it together again... then you need a better set of wrenches...

Kendall., I wander if PM is maintenence or measures... Is there info on checking the balance gears during an overhaul? I honestly don't know. I would love to read the elusive "TSB" myself. My thinking is simple, if the engine runs(correctly) without them.... what is the use. Keep waiting, I...

Keith L. from your post of the "O"s you brought home. The red one appears to have a much longer manual lift handle than the yeller one. What am I missing?

I got a start on my 147 project this evening. Partial teardown and inspection. I found balance gears after oil pan removal. I was surprised(I don't know why) how loose on the shaft the bottom gear was. They are coming out before this engine runs again! This is the first Kholer larger than a...

Josh O., Yea cubs sound great with a straight pipe(the neighbors love the sound too!). As Kendell and Dennis have stated. The possibility of your pipe breaking off at the block(or block itself) are more than just chance. If your pipe does'nt come in contact with your landscape, then the...

I got this one hole mount Brinly plow from my bother a couple months back, and tried her out this evening. I "think" this is an 8 inch plow. The 128 had no problems at all. I gotta get to a plow day.......

I log onto the forum and find another Todd H! First, welcome! I see you are getting great advise on your 147 running issue. I have a 147 myself awaiting some work(winter refurb).

Kendell, I am on the 3rd set of pads on the 128. Even though the 2nd set had some life left. Original axle seals though! The brakes on a gear drive are a necessity, especiality if you are in "hilly country".(Try to remember teaching the wife/girlfriend to drive a stickshift) The OT tractor I...

Luther, I may try the vegetable oil spraying. I dont have problems with cornworms(or I dont know). Only the 2nd year garden for me and I am more "green" than the garden! Very nice plot you have there! Kraig., forgot about the garlic. Let us know how the tomatoes do.

Brian., my wifes grandmother makes zuccinni bread, so I let them get a little big! More bread to eat! No rain for a couple days, I had to water the garden for the first time this year(just water, no miracle grow).
