    Rebuilding QA36A Thrower

    How does this question not belong here? Just asking because the title of this board is CCC and MTD Machines & Equipment. Does the QA36a not fit these machines? -everett}

    Xtream sleeve hitch question

Arron: Sorry to hear about your computer. I've been there. I guess where I'm confused is how you have the different products posted on you site. What is the difference between the CC-29-102 and the CC-29-060 or a simpler question I guess would be what are the part numbers for these two...

    Xtream sleeve hitch question

Thanks for the info so far, but just to clarify... here is an image So the top one is without ears and the bottom ones are with ears? I kinda got from the description on the web site that there was something else involved. -everett

    Xtream sleeve hitch question

Has anyone bought any of the "Xtreme Hitch - Lower Sleeve Hitch U-Brackets" from Xtreme Motorworks? I'd like to know if I should buy one with or without "ears" for my 982. What are the ears anyway. The description suggests that the ears go to the axle tubes in some way. Thanks -everett

    Tiller installation

Thanks for the info. Too Bad tho' I guess I'll stick with the self driven tiller I have. Now all I need to do is get a sleeve hitch set up for the 982. I'm still working out options for that. -everett

    Tiller installation

Firstly, Based on Wesley Westerfields recent post I'm thinking that I might be posting questions in the wrong location. I have a Cub Cadet IH 982, made in (I think) 1982-3 Should I be posting in the "CCC and MTD Machines & Equipment" forum? Let me now and I will happily move there...

Whats wrong? with my 782 PTO

This might not be the problem, but if the battery isn't getting a good charge of if the charging system is faulty you could get intermittent power to the PTO, mine is a real power hog. I agree that the relay is most likely your problem tho' -everett

    50 inch mower deck

Mule drive twists? I think that's for the belt that drives the whole deck, I was speaking of the belt in the deck that drives the spindles. Thanks for the link tho' it'll help. -everett

    50 inch mower deck

I broke the belt in my 50 inch deck. When I took the top of the deck off to get at the belt I noticed the pulleys were pretty rusty and pitted. Is there a way to clean them up or should I just replace them? How do I remove them? and what torque setting for the nuts when I put them back on...

    Electric Actuators

Anyone out there using electric actuators for things like 3 points or sleeve hitches? How about an electric front-end loader. I found this site that sells them for pretty cheap. Some have 400lbs of force, enough for the above applications I would think. http://www.firgelliauto.com/ -everett

Pulling an engine out of a 982

I don't think I would have lifted it by the carb even if I was assured that it was the best way I did get it out today with a bit of heavy rope around the front pulley and the bolts that hold the "rag joint" together. I did have to pull the front off the tractor to make enough room. Thanks...

Pulling an engine out of a 982

There is no pulley on the back side of the engine just the shaft with the flexible connecting disc (what are those called again?) I should be able to get the engine out like that tho'. If I'm careful. Thanks -everett

Pulling an engine out of a 982

I need to pull the Onan engine out of my 982. I've got the fuel line disconnected, the drive shaft pulled out, and I pulled all the bolts (4?) that connect the engine to the frame. Now what? It's to heavy to lift by hand, and I don't see how to lift it out with an engine hoist. Assuming I...

    Sleeve hitch

I've looked through all my manuals and CDs but cannot find any reference to the bell crank I'm trying to duplicate. I thought if I could see how it was originally installed it might give me a few Ideas. Any one know where to find any factory info on that part. And if it might have a part number...

    Sleeve hitch

Okay then, The next question is... Anyone got photos of how the original part is attached? I was kinda wondering how the thin frame steel would support the kind of load that would be put there. A instillation manual would be cool. Then I can fab up an attachment point. -everett

    Sleeve hitch

I'm ganna need to find someone with a stick welder to do the construction. I can cut shape and drill everything, but welding that thick is beyond me and my meager shop. As for the 7/16 hole, I measured the mounting holes in the frame and they were 7/16. I took the measurement in a hurry with...

    Sleeve hitch

Here is the new drawing. The Main bar is 1 1/2 inch thick with a 7/16 inch hole drilled along it's length. it will rotate on a 7/16 inch grade 5 pin. The stock it 1/2 inch thick and the holes are all 5/8 inch. What do you think? it's modeled after this one on my craftsman...

    Sleeve hitch

OOH, I have another question. Dale M, in that third photo I notice that the hitch is connected to your rear end just by the bolts that hold the cover plate on. Do you ever worry that you might yank that off or bust a bolt? I saw that Aaron Schmidt at Xtreammotorworks has a few that will also...
