Paul, if you are doing a restoration and want the correct paint colour(spelling for Don T.)for the Original you will have to get it mixed and put into spray cans. I did this and it was not cheap! It was around $25 a can at a napa paint & body shop supplier. You can save some money if you get the...

Jimmy L, I would also try a new plug, i had a 4 pack that drove me crazy must have dropped off the shelf haven't had a problem since. I actully think when it shut down there was a small backfire that loosened the center ceramics and would run until it got hot a quit. I have(super) Dave Kamp to...

Tim Daughtry, on the shutting down problem you say you changed the condensor but not sure if you swapped out the coil from another cub or not.If not give that a try.Another thing is try a new plug as they can become intermitant, I have had better luck with the 216 Autolite than the champions. Oh...

here's my guess Charlie Jan 25 1970 40 yrs ago to the day Edit after carefull calculations and some reading I have come to a conclusion that if they produced 183 cub 147's a day and were not working weekends the 147 came out on Nov 12 1969, now if they worked 7 days a week it would be on...

Frank S. I didn't think of it when I read your problem befor but a backfire can cause a plug to fail up high on the porcelin outa site. It may show a spark laying on the tin but under pressure in the cly it will not fire. Hope to hear ya got that cub roaring back to life.
