    1864 Deck Questions

you'll need the mule drive and undercarriage for a 1864. One from a 82 series won't work. The deck pulley will need to be for an 1864 as well.

48 inch deck on 2182 height adjustment

Are you saying when you pull or push on the hydraulic lever at the dash the deck doesn't raise up or down? If that's correct, see if your hydraulic cylinder under the tunnel cover moves in and out when you actuate the lever at the dash. If it does then you may have sheared roll pins in the...

    2084 old smokey

My first thoughts are carb float problem and drowning it with fuel. My brother's cv740 kohler was having same problem. It was the carb.

2084 Super Garden Tractor won't stay running/gas vanished!

If I'm understanding correctly, it fires and starts when in the start position but when you release the key switch from the start position and it goes to the run position, that's when it starts to die on you? Does it act like it has just been shut off or does it act like it's starving for fuel...

    1811 hydrostat adjustment

There's a bracket that mounts on the front of the pump with two bolts. You'll loosen them and move it up or down in very small increments. doesn't take much. The service manual will come in handy. If it doesn't want to creep with the brake applied but lever is still not in the neutral...

682 Loader Tractor Kohler Command Engine Swap

Since my 1864 already had a command in it, it was a simple swap. No mods. I had to put a sleeve on the pto shaft to get it the right diameter. I've got a 682 and when the kt17 craps out i'm gonna put the CH18 in it. I'll use an engine mount plate and driveshaft from a 1863/1864. I'll get...

    DRIVESHAFT QUESTION

Since you have it out, I would get a new one as well and you'll have a good drivetrain for several years.

    Just bought an 1872

Steven, If you determine your steering issues are coming from the lower steering column there is a seal kit available. Although, the steering cylinder is a common culprit in these setups.

    782D Running A Little Warm?

My 1572 was running a bit hotter than I had wanted when I first got it and realized there was a bunch of dirt/gunk clogged up in the radiator fins that wasn't noticeable by just glancing at it. I also added new insulation to the upper radiator hose since the old stuff was gone. It now hardly...

    1782 Wiring Harness

Gee I just read my post again. The part where I mentioned that XXXXX (aka xxxxxxxx) did an awesome job has disappeared. That's real professional.

    1782 Wiring Harness

Ray I had my wire harness for the 1572 made by xxxxxxx. The original harness was a nightmare. Sometimes I wonder what PO's are thinking. I'll probably have one made for the 782 this winter. That was also a mess, but I temporarily fixed it for now.

    Archive through August 22, 2010

Kent, I was able to fix a screen worse than that it just takes some time. You can get a repro center cap like this one from evilpay or maybe a used one from a sponsor. If you want the plain black center cap let me know i've got a brand new one setting in the garage somewhere.

Newbie with Cub fever - ethical question

I think the serial number range is 836001-880000 and then breaks to 880001-899000. I think the smaller pulley is during the first range.
