You guys are making me wonder about my K241 now. I have a very comfy seat that's not original so I'm not having any problem with my rear with an hour of mowing but I definately can feel the vibrations most noticably in my left foot. Honestly I was quite happy, the engine sounds fine and I never...

Harry H, I did indeed do the Nice 605 bearing upgrade and I agree with you that was worthwhile. Don T, I didn't put the gussets where you have them. I was very impressed with those spindle stampings, they must have required 200t to form! Honestly I hope to get another chance to improve it and...

On the axle collar/bushing topic, when I was working on my 105 recently I threw every single thing I could come up with at the steering to make it better. I bought two 3/4" ID 7/8" OD flanged bushings at my local hardware store and installed them. To be honest I changed so many things all at...

Nice Terry! Patience is a virtue. My dainty 105 is monstering the mowing, I'm going to have to get her a tiller or a boyfriend or something!

I'm back to a viable garden tractor. Just in time too, the weather is heading in the right direction where I am. Thanks again to all the contributors to this site. I hope I haven't worn out you search function! Here's a picture of where I started and where I stand today

I've only got one at the engine end. That's great that they're readily available. I'd never seen one before, but I like it. It's going to be forgiving of a small misalignment

Hi Guys, I'm still having fun I needed to replace my hydro cooling fan on the drive shaft and it quickly became clear that set up was not matching the manual. What I do have is very cool so I thought I'd share it with you. It's called a Morflex, and the one I have is made by Morse Chain Co. of...

Big thanks to all the people over the years who have figured out the ways to keep these machines running then record all that information, maintain it and distribute it. I would never figure it out by myself! Charlie was here.

Yep, I've got new stud, races and steering upgrade ordered. I'm just surprised to see the lumps missing from the groove surfaces. They don't seem to me to be wear marks, the surface is too rough where the material is missing.

I need a little guidance. I'm feeling pretty jubilant as I removed the steering (po had installed a nice bearing at the wheel end but the set screw only locking collar was siezed into position). As I was cleaning things up in the Ross box I found only half of the upper race, no problem I have a...

Eliza's post (yesterday) brings up a question I've been pondering. Is my garden tractor a male or female? If it were a car I'd have no hesitation in saying "her" but maybe because I'm a "him" Also as I'm getting stuck into my repairs is working on the hydro working on his/her heart or ham?

It worked, it was my first attempt to remove a steering wheel period, and having done some background reading I was prepared for some effort. Honestly it degenerated into directed violence. I've yet to take out the steering column so I could still find that I've caused myself a problem but I'm...
