We lost another good ole southern boy Sunday...George "Goober" Lindsey. He was one of Mayberrys finest (even though he was from Alabama as is Jim Nabors {Gomer}). Everywhere reads that he died following a short illness but that's all that was said. He was 83 years old.

It's a shame we don't have as much quality TV nowadays. The Andy Griffith show was packed full of honesty, good morals, and guys like Goober, Gomer, and Barney...not a mean or bad hair on their bodies and never a harsh word.

George Lindsey was also a blast on Hee Haw for those of you that remember the show.

Ouch.. I know it's a quote between Barney and Andy, but I can't resist..

Barney: "You don't mean.."
Andy: "Yep. Somewhere, wandering loose around Mayberry, is.. A loaded goat."
