Larry
I gave him $300 for it. Getting extra deck, and some rims/tires too. Sure could have talked him down some, but seemed fair enough. It runs, the deck works, just needs a bit of TLC.

I paid $600 for my 149 about 6 yrs ago but it was much nicer unit.

Compared to the very pricey junk they make today, it's a bargain in my eyes.

I think you did just fine Larry!
Found not one but two sets of tire chains, now need to measure and see which ones I need.

Very Nice addition to the herd, (of 2 now)

My guess would be keep the nicer 149 working, and refurb/restore the 127.
That original sales receipt w/ serial would be a nice compliment to a fully restored unit.
149's are supposed to work anyway,

Larry K, By chance, can you provide the IH dealer's address that is noticed on the original sales slip? My 125 is from a IH dealer in Cleveland as well. Might be our tractors came from the same dealership! That would be cool!

Nothing got poofed.
It was all moved to Inner Circle Conspiratorial Council of Elders thread.

I apparently missed a good time earlier! Or an incredibly terrible one, but I digress. I don't want to incur Charlie's wrath again.
So I just putted with the 100 around the neighborhood some. Where can I get one of those main jet"screwdrivers" for the Kohler carbs? My spare carbs have been "worked" on with a regular screwdriver at some point. I really don't want to do more damage. I guess I got lucky in the past. It is to get a better carb on my 100.

Also, would Tri ribs gain me anything on the front of the 100? I'm basically only going to use it for snow duty.

Thanks Dale, I think I'll pull my IH weights off the 782 and put on her too. I have plastic OT weights, maybe cast inside and plastic outside. Dad's 1450 has external brakes, but the 100 has internal, so I can get more on there. I don't like that about the plastic, can't stack them for more weight, at least in a way that worked. Who stacked like 20 on each side? That pic was hilarious.

Earl,

Hollow ground screwdrivers work best, most all of the interchangeable tip screwdriver bits are hollow ground and have parallel faces, not tapered.

I'll be honest and did not know there was a difference. I will try that tomorrow Steve, thank you!

It was ordered from 1600 Brookpark Rd Cleveland, Ohio. Delivered 8/24/71.
Actually the unit traded in was a 106 with 42" deck, not a 105. Trade in value was $943 back then. Don't know the vintage of the 106?

For getting a main jet out that is stuck I place the carb between the jaws of a vice and place a piece of wood between the arm of the vice and the carb where the needle hole is for support. Then I use one of those motorcycle hand impact tools. Tapping it very lightly has always gotten removed for me with no damage.

Earl F. I sure like your 100.

Earl, that was Tim DeLooza. He did it just for fun. Tim actually drove it out the shop door around in a circle then back in the shop. Then removed the weights because the rims were starting to bend! According to Tim there were a total of 17 weights per side, note two weights were on the inboard side of each rear wheel.

Okay, question for Monday morning.
The 127 I just bought needs the front axle rebuilt: spindles and pivot bushing. What does it take to get the pivot bushing out? Do you have to pull the motor? The oil pan hangs down behind the pin and it doesn't look very accessible. I want to rebuild this axle and put it on my 149. The 149 is not as bad as this axle but I might as well swap them over that way the 149 isn't down for very long(at least that is the plan).

I'm assuming that the axles are the same? I'm going to convert the 149 to trailer stub axles instead of those worthless wheelbarrow bearings. The 127 will likely get rebuild back to stock once I swap the axle on the 149.

Thoughts? Opinions?
