My 1450 was turning into a dedicated tiller/blower because I bought a new Grasshopper zero turn with 61" deck. Liquid cooled 25 HP rips through grass in a hurry. What used to take nearly 6 hours now takes an hour.

Got the tiller mounted on the 1450 today and the hydralic lift sure makes it wonderful!! Gonna dedicate the 1450 to tilling and snow blowing only.

Got the lift for the 1450 mounted and the tiller gear box. Just have to hang the tiller and have a go at it. Never tilled extensivly with these units. I have an acre of sod to till up. Is the 1450 up to the task?? Or should I pop for the rent of a 5 foot tiller on a tractor?

Thanks Fred........ I'll check the voltage. The ring should be OK as the engine only has an hour on new rings and hone job.

My 129 won't start....... getting fuel but no spark. Funny thing is it was fine when I parked it last fall. Could a coil just up and fail?? It's a ford coil that replace it if I remember correctly.

Thanks Guys........ I was hoping the spring would not be needed. Good to put a face to The Keeper after all these years.

I am going to transfer my tiller from the 129 to the 1450. The 1450 has a hydralic lift. Question: Is the hydralic lift powerful enough to lift the tiller without the aid of spring assistance? Is using a spring on a hydralic unit even possible? Question: How important is having ag tires...

Couple of questions for the gurus.... 1. My 1450's starter is acting like its drawing too much juice. Sometimes it seems to just lock up. Then it goes. Battery good and have even jumped it. Does it need a rebuild? Or replaced. Not familiar with these fancy hydros, used to starter/gen...

Albert M. The steering sector on Cubs is one of the weak points for sure. Keep them adjusted and greased. Pick up a sevice manual from Binders. Invaluable.

Eric C. My understanding is the 70 and 100 share the same harness.

Thanks for the links Bryan M. that does the trick. The Brinly Tandem Disc looks like the sure thing. Spendy I bet........ Kraig, Mulching 250 trees is a daunting task. Mulch also harbors mice, they will girdle small trees. In the fall I plant a cover crop, other wise the trees are kept...

Thanks Roland for the prompt reply. That may work. I need to keep grass from establishing. I was thinking of something solid hitched so it would be easier to control. Like those disk things larger tractors use.

I need to cultivate (after tilling) under the apple trees in my orchard. Is there a drag behind impliment that gives complete tillage and is limited to a couple of inches in depth?? And do I need Ag tires or dual rears to pull it?

Looked at a super clean 782D today. Started great and has 750 hours. Comes with a deck and cub cadet tiller powered by an 8 hp kohler (this threw me a bit). How does this powered tiller rate?? I am used to the belt driven IH's on my 129 and 1450. Got in a small arguement as he claimed it...
