    Digital calipers

If you want to use those to read the piston od top and bottom. it'll be okay to get an idea of the wear. but don't use them to measure and fit to the bore.

    1970 147

Since you probably have it apart by now. I'd say replace the governor with a new one. Don't know the age and hours of the old (maybe original?) one. Cheap insurance policy and then carefully set the adjustment by the book upon re-assembly. After all these years it may have just come out of...

    Battery Reconditioning?

I'd agree with Marty. Neutralizing the acid for disposal is easy enough but cleaning the plates? And if the plates are thin / weak / broken? Lastly how would you reseal the top back on? I don't think I'd bother when a new one can be had for 30 to 40 dollars. We had a battery shop in town...

The steps on replacing the wiring harness on a 107.

yes, but now it's done as soon as you turn the key to on. No need to do another step as we used to do

The steps on replacing the wiring harness on a 107.

Back in the "OLD DAYS" the voltage regulator had to be polarized. But that is no longer needed. Once you turn the key on the first time, it will be polarized, (hint - double check / verify each wire is properly connected before connecting the battery. And clean grounds, make sure there is no...

    Finally after 7 years a QA 36

The later Cub Cadets could mount a 450/451 snowblower. adapt easily?? I don't know if anyone has ever tried!?!?!

    Finally after 7 years a QA 36

No arguments there Dennis (LOL).. the biggest factor I've always felt was the actual "dryness" of the snow. There are some types that just will not be a pleasure to work with. But my 1 stage thrower was always better than my 2 stage walk behind blower!

    Finally after 7 years a QA 36

I'll disagree with Dennis, I used a 36" thrower on my 73 w\ 8hp with no problems. There is a trick to those throwers and that is keeping it full "just enough" and it'll toss it just fine. So as you're putting along making passes you steer into the snow just enough to keep the unit full and...

    PTO Clutch

I doubt it could wobble as the brake would be pushing against it. If the button did not act against the springs, the clutch would stay engaged and continue to rotate the pto.
