    Farmall F-14 and F-12

Man, I love the F series Farmalls. I wish I had one. When I was nine years old (in the late 50's) I spent summers on my Dad's cousin's farm in Rockford, Iowa. He had an M, an H, and an F-14. Me, being the youngest of the three guys on that farm, I got the F-14. And I loved driving it. I...

    Cub Cadet 60

I, like most everyone on this and other forums, do what we do with old tractors just for that one moment when we first turn the key on a refresh and ...it starts! Kraig, it was LOTS fun! Thanks for the comment!

    Cub Cadet 60

I got the little mower up and running yesterday. I took it out of the barn, got about 20 feet and the VERY rusty chain broke! Did some research and found a modern chain that is very close to the OEM one, so I bought it and installed it, after pulling the rear axle and differential. Figured I...

    CC 106 Refurbish/Modification

I got my 1969 Model 106 from a family in North Carolina a little over a year ago. They were the original owners. It ran fine, had some rust issues on the deck and missing a couple of parts, but all in all, a pretty solid machine. I tried mowing with it but quickly found out that the pulleys on...

    Cub Cadet 60

Good deal, thanks Kraig! I will try and retain the black/blue decal as I don't find any of them online, just the blue. My 60 is in really good shape, but the fiberglass is badly stained. I'm going to try and clean it, but may have to end up repainting it and I would like to retain the decals.

    Cub Cadet 60

I have a question for Kraig or Myron or anyone else knowledgeable about the Cadets. Mine is a 1971 Cadet Model 60, and is, of course, yellow. But it has a black and blue decal stripe, not a blue and white one like other Model 60's I've seen and it also has a black seat cushion. Are these correct?

    Cub Cadet 60

Thank you, Kraig! Oh, for your information and use, and anyone else with one of these Cadets, the governor link, which is NLA, is perfectly replaced by Tecumseh Governor Linkage Part # 31360 TB/157

    Cub Cadet 60

Got the new governor link today, installed it, and fired it up! Still needs some carb adjustments and a new chain (old one ran for maybe 20 feet and then broke - VERY rusted out - imagine that...), but the dang thing RUNS! Now to work on the mower attachment, but that should be a piece of cake...

    Cub Cadet 60

Well, had some time today to work on the Cadet 60. I had earlier stripped the wheels and mounted new tires. I also had to buff down the axle as there was a groove worn in it because someone never replaced the bronze flange bearings on the front axle. Anyway, I got around to mounting them on...

    Cub Cadet 60

Yeah, it was pretty much full of mud, probably from a mud dauber hornet nest. I got the mower from an estate sale. I believe the previous owner intended to restore it and had removed the carb, breather, etc. intending to do that, but then was unable to finish due to illness. I believe the...

    Cub Cadet 60

Ok, here are a few more pics of my Cadet 60. Most ofr the work is yet to be done (this winter), but the carb has a before and after shot... Thanks for the interest, ya'll! Jim

    Cub Cadet 60

Yep, you're right. The Cadet 60 was the first of these mowers and the only one that is CC Yellow and the only one powered by a 6 HP Tecumseh. Good catch, Earl! More pics will come tomorrow when I'm at my other computer. I'll have to downsize the pics a bit to fit the forum rules.

    Cub Cadet 60

Hi, This is a somewhat dated thread, but it has some great information and a terrific picture of a Cadet 60 carb linkage. I picked up a Cadet 60 in June of 2016 with the carb and linkage in pieces in a box. I rebuilt the carb (it was 100% clogged with mud) and got the engine running, but...
