Oh. and Bruce N, Im assuming you have a Kohler K series engine on your vintage Cub. Id clean and re-gap the points, a set of dirty and out of spec points can mimick a carb issue and will get progressively worse as time goes on.

Thanks for the info Digger, I have checked the deck suspension out, it's a complicated setup but everything is straight and aligned, and nothing moves that shouldnt. The mule pulleys, with the recent belt installed, were free and clear of any obstructions, the left pulley was Id say about 1...

Ron. Thanks for the reply. When I got off of work @ 12 I came home and pulled the driveshaft assembly out, and added a 3/4" long extension to the end of the shaft, and used a 3/4" bit in the drill press to make a full concave in the end. I put it all together and low and behold for the first...

ive got an IH Cub Cadet 1200 model Garden Tractor, love it, great runner, all complete and low low hours. Paid 100 dollars for it. The only problems I can find are the fact no one can tell me what length belt it needs to run the deck (PTO to Deck). The dealer knows absolutely nothing about...

    LT 1045 Knocking

if it has the courage single cylinder, remove the upper engine shroud and make sure the small bolts that hold the top of the engine to the sump are tight. we have had a major problem with the early courage engines doing this, usually ends up ruining the motor after a few cuttings like this.

What length/width belt goes from the PTO to the deck on a Cub 1200, with the 44A deck? This thing is giving me fits. The clutch from the driver to the rear coupler is 100% new, or was when i put it all on a couple years back. It always shook after that..I shortened the driveshaft to...

Z force ztr 50"...lowering the blades?

I appologize, Iwas reffering to the RZT mowers. The Z-force however arent alot better, considering they are more expensive. The only improvement I can spot on them is the decks are better. But the drive train/frame still leaves alot to be desired. Absolutely a ZF over a RZT. But for...

Z force ztr 50"...lowering the blades?

Having worked on a ton of these "Z-force" cubs, which can also be had as Troy Bilt Z riders, identical mowers mind you.. I will offer this little bit of advice. You may want to start a little fund for replacement of this machine in the next 2 years. This mower, despite what you were or were...

    CC String Trimmers

Holy crap! What a machine! Ive never seeon one quite like that one. Ill write down the model and see if out parts lookup has any info on it, at least see what parts are available. Id say that is comparable to the SRM-311, or better, in todays lineup.

Sales pitch? You dont have to try to sell an Echo...they do very well on their own. You just got to get one in someone hands first. I dont know how many times we've had someone bring in a trimmer for repair..and on the way out stop by and pickup an Echo trimmer...feel it for a minute...

    CC String Trimmers

Hey brendan...prepare to be shocked. That's an ECHO. Echo made the Deere trimmers for a while back in the 80's. Actually it's a "kioritz", it's so old. If you need parts, take it to an Echo dealer, most parts, if not all, are still made. Way back when, Kioritz copied the common MAC...

    CC String Trimmers

Well, curved shaft trimmers spin clockwise, same as the engine. Straight shaft heads turn counter clockwise, due to the gears in the head. Kioritz corp. IS Echo. Kioritz changed it's name to Echo some years ago. Ive got a Kioritz 802 Chainsaw at work, it dates back to about 1975-80. Then...

Most likely a HOMELITE...does it have the little choke slide built into the air filter? ZIP-START?

Congratulations on your fine purchase, using Echo powerblend, with 93 octane (no gasahol allowed) mixed 50:1 will yield maximum power and logevity. The powerblend oil has the highest rating possible for 2 stroke oils, using the japanese (JASO) requirments, which are more stringent than the...

    CC String Trimmers

The originator of the current "ryobi" design, with the reed intake, top fuel tank, bottom muffler and plug on the bottom, was IDC, back quite a few years. Then RYAN bought them, and improved the design, making it much better, the Ryans were tough and reliable. Then RYOBI bought them, and...
