New member, 184 starting issues :-(

Since we are trying out different things that MIGHT have some effect on this I just wanted to throw out a recent problem that I would have never thought been there. Previous owner of my newly purchased 185 changed rotor, cap and wires, plugs. Tractor ran great, but any load at all, and I mean...

Just curious as to whether anyone has used the dash decals that CC Specialties is selling? Seems to me that the dash surface has too much texture and raised areas for a durable adhesion. Thanks for any input.

Hi, Has anyone used the dash decals that are sometimes available on Ebay? I am curious as to how well that holds up to use and weather. I just can't see that as something that really can withstand use on a working tractor. Thanks, Randy

Kraig, This is the pin on the front of the driveshaft, 1/4", right next to the engine. Tried punching it but she isn't moving. I plan on putting an OEM pin back in. Got a feeling that I am going to have to remove the whole shaft to work on it. Just can't get a good swing in there with the BFH...

Has anyone else had trouble driving the driveshaft pin out of the driveshaft? Mowing yesterday with the 147 and it just came to a complete halt. After the initial freaking out was over I discovered that the pin completely sheared off and now I am stuck with it in the shaft. Drill bit won't even...

Thanks guys. I couldn't tell you the numbers on the rod. It's some tig filler that I picked up years ago on Ebay for fixing castings, no box or markings on it. Has a really high nickel content and flows out beautifully. Straight argon with a preheat of the casting and a post heating before...

Just finished up saving a 42" deck from the scrap yard. Front ear on the nose was busted off. Tig welded the cast nose using a high nickel filler. Heated up to about 400 degrees, fitted the broken mount and welded her up front and back. Buried it in sand to cool extra slow and it came out...

Seems I am getting more and more smoke/blow by through the breather on my Cub 127. What is the reason and cure for this? Thanks for any advice on this.

Has anyone else with an electric lift had trouble with water sneaking into the gear housing? We had one rain since I put it on and water came flowing out when I raised the lift. Not just a little.

Very frustrating afternoon messing with the Cub 147. For the life of me I cannot figure out why the electric lift is not functioning. I can put jumpers to the lift itself and can make it operate perfectly. Hook it up to the wire harness and nothing. Switch checks out on the meter, 12 volts to...

I am in need of the spindle covers/belt guards for a 42 inch IH deck. They don't have to be pretty but not mangled, dented. Thanks for any help. R. Reid

I have both a 44" and a 42" that are on my 127's. Sounds like I will make a switch with the 44" to the 147. I have another question about the hydro dump lever, the 147's lever does nothing, it feels as tho it is connected to nothing. I haven't had time to get under there and inspect what is...

Thanks for the pics. That helps a lot. I guess the smaller deck did not have need of the support wheels behind it?

I need a little more help from the experts here. I have a chance to go pick up this deck, carriage and mule drive but not sure if all this is going to fit my 147. I don't have measurements so I was hoping someone could tell visually if this is for a narrow frame? Thanks once again for the...
