    had no problem getting it into gear but it just took right off the problem was getting into the back of the truck on ramps without the clutch and not putting it though the truck rear windshield

    Terry B if you clean it reel good like Richard says and spray footpowder on it then start it, and the oil will cling to the footpowder.You will see right where its leaking.

    digger- i did not change the the rear end oil just yet i will do that and then see whats happens. i did how ever let it run and get good and hot tried to bang it from forward and reverse but just managed to break the seat off the hinges and fall on my back side.

    looking for a little help. I pick up a 1650 thats been siting for a while. Got it running but will not go in reverse at all. Forward works fine. I put a good used relief that works in a 129 tractor i have, but still no reverse. any ideas?

    Richard i think those flat pans are taller then the old a.q.s. pans as well.i have heard of some one cutting the ears off but i wouldn't do that. there are some blocks that don't cover those ears on the blocks in that case changing the pans won't work

    Richard - i think if you change the oil pan it will work not 100% sure but some thing tells me that i have seen blocks drilled and tap in the block for the small pans but the ears would be sticking out. at lease you might be out a oil pan gasket

    steve, i am a mechanic by trade. i have at work a dewalt 3/8 cordless and its the best tool in my toolbox so i am sure that 1/4 inch is going to be the cats a$$. i don't use any of my air tools anymore!

    Zac as far as your carb some times you can get lucky remove it to clean and reinstall with out any problems. then later you can get a carb kit and do it right. clean it good with carb cleaner you can buy carb cleaner from auto parts they sell vats for about 12 bucks that will clean it out but...

    Zac- you need to know if you got 12volts to the + side of the coil. if you do you should check with a test light on the neg - side of the coil then when you crank the motor you test light will flash every time the point open and close.

    Zac glad the battery got the tractor turning over. so now you know you can have voltage but no amps. hope you can get it going if not people here can help.

    Paul-P thats a good question. i would think it would be better to have more weight on the wheels then the back.if it adds more stress i think the wheels or tires can take more.i do know that people have broke axles & housings but i don't know why. they seem to hold up to pullers?.rears can take...
