    what model is it? lol

I've owned an 1811 for 23 years. I set it on fire once (grass caught around pto switch which sparked fire) about 10 years ago. I had to replace the pto wire but it started right up like a champ even though the oil add port was partly melted. These things aren't just tough, they're really good.

    782 won't run?

So my trusty 1982 red cub 782 coughed once and died while mowing. I have replaced the coil, points and condensor. It turns over fine with a jump from my 1986 yellow 1811 cub .. It appears something is draining the battery, Sometimes the lights come on at the light setting on key and sometimes...

Looks like a cub 1811. I've been trying to beat my 1811 to death for 20 years. Haven't succeeded yet! If it runs, you got a great buy.

782 died while hot, most likely problem?

Yes, I do have a gas 782, not a diesel 782d. Wish I had a diesel, but still a gas series II 17hp Kohler with an oil filter has been pretty kind to me, especially since I bought it last spring for $500. As I already owned an 1811 for about 20 years, I am pretty aware of most glitches in these...

782 died while hot, most likely problem?

So I was mowing with the 782 the other day when it coughed a few times and just died. I thought it might have a bad coil since it had been running rough at the very end of a long day my previous use. Anyway, when I went to attempt starting again when cool the lights came on at the first...

Hey Ya'll from Raleigh, North Carolina

Hi Rich, Fellow tar heel just east of raleigh here. I have had a good welder weld cover plates on end of mufflers twice. This was for both my 1811 and 782 tractors. I also have a junked 1811 without a motor. What parts do you need?

Cub 2072 Lift Cylinder only goes one way, assume the control valve is stuck, any suggestions on freeing that up?

I had already adjusted the mounting plate on the steering column as far as possible and it didn't help. I do agree the original problem was probably as described above (corroded shaft), but I found by filing a small slot in the back of the lever so I got a little more lever reach, I haven't had...

Cub 2072 Lift Cylinder only goes one way, assume the control valve is stuck, any suggestions on freeing that up?

I actually found an easier way to deal with a similar problem on my 782. I just filed a slight dash in the side of the control lever where it was contacting the instrument panel at the maximum end of its motion. This gave the lever an extra 1/2"or so of play which was all that was needed to...

1982 782 runnung rough at idle

Hi all, So my wonderfu 40 year old 782 started running rough at idle and I noticed a small whiff of smoke under the dash on startup. Where is the best pace to begin my search for wellness in my old friend?

Model 1650 Kohler won't crank after sitting for any length of time

Also, I just had an issue with gas leaking thrugh carb over winterand filling crankcase so full of gas engine would barely turn. You may want to look at bowl needle setting and consider installing a fuel cutoff where it is easily available to you.

Parts Wanted ISO CubCadet 1050 side panels.

Henry, I'm willing to sell one panel for $65 or both for $75 plus shipping and Paypal fee. When you say carburetor panel are you saying left side when sitting on the seat (an 1811 has carburetor in middle between 2 cylinders)? Call me at 919-426-7543 if still interested. Mike B
