    For your pto problem the relay may be stuck in the on position which wont let it start it is located next to the battery, and for the drive shaft spinning coming out the back of the engine it is suppose to do that.

    I have a 1864 which use the same frame and mule drive as the 82 series and I have no problems with fitment on the 48GT deck.
