CATS Stray, Feral, Housebound, Declawed, and Otherwise

Kraig, Yep, grew up in Lake Elmo, was living in StillH2O when we moved. I've walked the Arcola RR bridge, 40 years ago.

I think it's funny that Sterling looks a bit grumpy, while Sadie seems to be smiling. Sadie has a pretty good case of "Torti-tude" and took her most of the summer to get used to the silver interloper. Being 5 she wasn't so sure she wanted a 2 month old in her house. His first birthday is in a...

Hi Harry When was the great crash? I was a long time lurker when I got my first cub (around the time I94 was anointed "Avenue of the cubs" and a bit before plow day 1 at the Blunier's) then was off for a number of years before finally joining when I acquired 4 more IH CCs in less then a year...

    How Cold Is IT?

Having a neighbor across the street with a .410, and a grey fox with an auxiliary den just below my garage I don't have groundhogs. I've happily traded a weather forecast for an unmolested garden. Well, except for the Deer, Racoons, and Ravens.

Hey Nic, I was told the secret to speed is weight transfer. You take a heavy load of cash out of your wallet and put it in your engine.

I've found for snow duty that using a chain for the lift rod works pretty well. It keeps the blade from digging in to my gravel drive, yet the curve at the bottom of the blade lets it scoop under the snow so the weight of the snow holds it down. I don't use BRS but have had no issues taking...

    Pot not Cigarettes !

Not to step on a fun story of pointy headed legislation but it took all of 30 seconds to see that it only applies to edibles. Said bars/restaurants also have to show neighborhood support before they can get the required permits, and are not allowed to sell or otherwise supply the pot in...

Thanks Charlie. Interestingly my 1450 has the Gas gauge cap, but my parts 1450 also has the screw vent. I'm planning to sell the 1250 this spring so I really don't want to put any more money into it. Oh well the 129 has neither type cap, it just needs a head gasket at the moment.

Hey all, My 1250 has the screw vent filler cap. When in use it slowly screws itself closed. I've gotten ok at standing up over the wheel, opening the hood, and screwing open the vent when I feel it starting to starve. I'm wondering, does anyone else have this problem? I think that when the vent...

I run 93 octane in all my small engines. Only because I only have one 5 gallon can and need 93 for my chain saws. For awhile I brought my 1 gallon 2 stroke can and the 5 gallon when I needed a fill but its much easier to only deal with one can at a time, as well as feeling kind of silly with a...

    CLEAN Jokes

Did you hear about the chameleon who couldn't change colors? He had a reptile dysfunction.

Thanks for the mention Jason, but as you say it's the depth of knowledge around here that gets the credit. I read that method here a few years ago, recollections say it was KentuckKen where I read it. And yes, time and penetratent are a great things. I sprayed and left the gear puller under...

I've used the gear puller method, but first I put an exhaust clamp loosely around the base of the wheel to distribute the pullers load, rather then making three cracks in the wheel's underside.
