Removing an early CC exhaust elbow?

I have had good luck heating and melting wax into the joint. I don't know why, but the wax seems to soak into the rust.

    New Member from Texas

Welcome Tom, I'm in the DFW area and have a 107 and 122 that I'm thinking about parting out, but I hate to ship stuff. I didn't know there was any other Cub guys in Texas.

Ethan, it's not the way the filter was installed, it's the well aged gasket the has become part of the filter and block over time. Drive a large screwdriver through the filter close to the base to give some leverage. A strap wrench will probably crush or just twist the can of the filter.

This may be real close to the "stupid question" area, but where do you find what the different models are, years built, features, etc.? I thought I saw it on the site someplace. Specifically, what's a 128?

    Wanted To Buy

Austin, I don't know what a 128 is, but I have a 107 and a 122, both need restoring, cheap, if that would be of any interest. In DFW, Texas area. Don

David, It's just a wire grate clamped to a aftermarket belly blade that I moved up front. It's pretty crude, the wire grates are from a computer book storage rack. P.S. This picture isn't my tractor, just a stolen picture of a belly blade. Mine isn't that wide...

I haven't been on the site in ages. Don't have any snow to move around but do have some leaves I'm moving to the back pasture for mulching.

Lanny, sounds like it may be overheating. Are the fins clear and air intake not clogged up? Could it be running too lean?

Norm, By glueing a broken magnet together, you will create another North South set of poles. I don't know how that will affect the voltage output. It may increase because of the extra pulse in one revolution or it could decrease by not allowing enough time to saturate the coils. ???? Probably...

Scott, "A black wire runs from the ignition to the condensor." The black wire goes to the + coil terminal, not the condensor. As Gerry said, the green L wire is causeing it to try to crank.

Jimmy, I didn't know there were any other CC members this close to me. I didn't get in on the first of your troubles, but what I've read sounds like it may be water in the gas. You have probably already checked that. As I said, I didn't read all your posts, what does it take to restart it...

    2130 Wiring Diagram

Thanks Charlie. I guess it's older than I thought. It must be a 1994 model. The problem was a bad connection on a terminal on the unmarked relay just to the right of the PTO switch in the diagram. I would have never looked there without the diagram.

    2130 Wiring Diagram

Does anyone have a wiring diagram or a link to one for a 2130 manufactured date D044G8. Would that be July 1998?? PTO not engageing. I sprayed the switch with contact cleaner and worked it but it didn't help. I think it may be the relay, but don't know which wire goes to the switch. I've never...

Karl, The coil or capacitor won't keep the engine from cranking. It sounds like you may have a loose connection at the battery or the ground wire from the battery to the frame is corroded. It could also be a loose connection at the ignition switch.

Ed S., Check the voltage across the battery with it running. The voltage regulator could be overcharging and putting out way too much voltage. If it's much over 14 volts, the voltage regulator could be bad. Sometimes you'll notice a rotten egg smell from the battery when it gets too much voltage.
