I also have a question concerning my 124. I put in a fresh new battery, and installed a new VR which has been set properly. However, the Amp Gauge is showing a charge just past the first dash. Could this be normal since i have a new battery, or is it bad brushes, cause i repalced all the non...

Hey everyone. I just picked up an Original from my neighbor, which i need help on. The motor turns over, and has spark and good compression. However, he told me it had developed a loud clutch chatter, so he parked it, and it sat for 6 years. What causes this , and does it mean its time for a...

Jeff, Nice 125. I always like to see an old Cadet revived. It pays off after all the work, when the motor rolls on strong. My Original is an example of that. It's not pretty, but it runs good for now.

The Original lives! I found a used coil in better shape, and replaced the condenser and plug. A little smoky at first, but the ole' Kohler cleared up nice! Runs, and drives good. It's amazing what 10mins of tinkering around will do! I just left it in front of my pole barn last night, and came...

Hopefully, i might be able to get the old Original awake before the 4th of July. I was going to take it down to my uncle's 4th of July party, and take the kids for a hayride with it. Any tips, or advice is greatly welcome to help me get er back on the road! Thanks!

Hey everyone. I got the old Original home earlier today, and as you can see, it's not very pretty. But a little paint and the decals, and it'll be good to go. I worked on cleanin er up mechanically too. Turns out, that the old K 161 is suprisingly not stuck, and has pretty good compression. It...

Frank Clark, I would replace the coil, and condenser, and make sure your voltage regulator is still good, or if it is set right. Sounds to me that your 125 is getting too much voltage to the coil, and is literally burning up your spark plug, and causing stalls.

Y'all listen to this. My neighbor is giving me 6 old tractors to restore, all for $free, and there is a diamond in the rough, an Original, with it's original deck, lights, and dumpcart! I am real excited about this, because now, i have another rougher one, but a little TLC, paint, and some...

Hey all Cadeters! I got a question concerning my 67' 124. Just recently, i installed a newer style regulator on it, and for some odd reason, the tractor will run without a battery now, even though it has a battery type ignition. However, i hooked up a charger/engine starter, fired my Cub up, and...

Hey Y'all I have a question concerning my 67' 124. I would like to remove the engine to rebuild it, give it some new "organs". However i need to disconnect the clutch shaft from the engine, so how do i go about doing that? I want the clutch to remain in the tractor, just need the motor, and the...

Hey y'all I have a question about an old 100 i just picked up from a friend. The tractor had sat for years in a garage, and is in remarkable shape both mechanically, running and visually. However the tractor has loud transmission whinning backlash, although it shifts and runs at the proper...

Hey Fellas, I have a question concerning my 124's charging system again. The regulator is working ok. When i first start the tractor and at idle, the amp gauge on the dash shows little charge. But as i speed up, the gauges moves towards C, but is sparatic(moves back and forth). I figure this is...

Got another Cub this morning from a friend. An old 105, but i am having an issue with the hydro. It drives in Forward fine, but when you pull back into reverse, it kicks your arm up hard, and sort of vibrates back into neutral. Reverse barely works, so where is all that resistance comin from...

KENtucky KEN, That helps a little, but i need to know where the existing wires on my 124, would go on a newer style regulator, like a conversion chart or somethin, and which existing wire would go on L and which wire goes on the rear terminal. I dont want to risk burning up something. Besides...

Hey Fellas, I finally figured out whats causin the problem with my 124. The battery is not charging, so as the tractor runs, the coil basically drains the battery, and the battery condenser cant function, so the igniton quits. However, i started it this morning and kept jumper leads on it, and...
