Bruce N I have had good luck using a punch or chisel and a hammer. Just tapping the wheel where the bearing goes every 20 degrees or so all the way around to reduce the size of the opening a bit. Do it lightly and go all the way around. Then try the bearing. If its still to big repeat as...

The first IH (MTD made) red diesel was the 782D and they probably average about $2000 when sold here in the midwest. Later yellow ones include the 882, 1582 and 1782 I believe. Roger

Lonny you said you replaced the carb with another one. Was it by by any chance one from a fly wheel gear drive starter engine not a starter generator engine. The chokes are different between the two types. The choke on a starter genrator motor covers more of the opening than the other kind...

I told Kraig I would show a better picture of my 147. The first is how it looked when first put together and the second is how it is configured now. Roger

    G. L. the K141 Has the same bore as an early K161 but a shorter stroke crankshaft. That is why it is 14 cubic inches not 16 cubic inches. It is also why it is 6.25 HP not 7 HP like the K161. Roger

Craig if you are using a RB15YC4 plug that is part of your problem. Those plugs are designed for HEI ignitions and are gapped at .040. You should try to find plain RB15YC plugs and in my KT17 I use RB17YCs gapped .030 and have had no starting or fouling problems. Roger
