Timothy, Are you SURE it is a 60" deck? Standard Garden Tractors didn't take the 60" deck, but did accept up to 50" decks. The 982 and subsequent Super Garden Tractors (1912,1872,2072)would carry the 60" deck, with the proper sub frame made for it.

I am going to convert my 129 from manual lift to hydraulic, and am looking for some advice. The donor rear end I am getting parts from (ported pump housing) has an unknown history and appears to have not been well taken care of. It is going to be used in another project tractor, so I am going to...

Does anyone know if the rockshaft assemblies in the standard garden tractors are the same as the ones in the same series SGT's? I am looking for a replacement for one in my 982. I'd like the redesigned version used after serial number 713151. The MTD supers based on IH design, such as 1872 and...

Thanks for the lively discussion on the hydro/oil filters. I figured my inquiry would bring out a lot of useful information as well as humorous comments and brand loyalty. My suspicions about substitutes began when I saw the WIX 51084 had innards that the OEM did not. I went into the idea of...

I am looking for a better deal on hydro filters than the $13 Cub Cadet version at my local dealership. What do the Forum members use and can someone explain the difference between an oil filter and a hydro filter? Once upon a time I read somewhere about the differences, but can't find it on the...

I am learning why people who sell Cub Cadet large items often state in their ads "local pickup only". I am looking for an economical way to ship a couple of Cub Cadet items that are on pallets. So far I am amazed at what I have heard as quotes from carriers, such as Yellow. Has anyone found a...

Will blades for wideframes fit on a 982? I've got a blade for sale and an interested person is wanting to know. I think the frames are different widths, so the 82 tractors won't accept the older stuff. But here is where the experts trod, so I leave it to you. Thanks in advance for the wisdom.

Does anyone know what the difference is between the three-bolt and four-bolt gearboxes for Cub rototillers? Answers like "one bolt" are not acceptable, but may qualify you for the "Don't quit your day job award."
