    Yes, still too long.......back off the adjustment bolt until just about 1 inch or less of threads are showing and the indicator arm should be in the first small "V" behind the large square release notch...... Then you have the correct belt....

    There is a wire plug on the left side of the tractor which lies on top of the fan housing.......it contains 2 charging wires and mag kill wire(white) ......when you disconnect at that point, you take the safety switches and the ignition switch out of the circuit......     If the 50" deck on the 1863 has the anti scalp bars , then its an older 50" deck and not the 50C that an 1863 or any other Cyclops series should come with...... In my personal stable, I've taken a 50C deck(4 guage wheels) from my 1882 and installed on my 1541 which was equipped with a 46GT deck...
