Kwik-Way Poultry Scoop, Looks quite cumbersome to move around inside the barn with the loader frame plus the scoop assembly. I would think directional control during use would be a problem also. My Father built a mid mount scraper based on a QA mount for his then near new 125 for his egg barn...

There were also some great one liners following the photo sequence of Frank W. and Ken W. as I recall.

J Michael D. Thank you very much for the information. That is exactly what I was looking for. I appreciate the helpfulness very much. I owe you one. Charlie, Thanks for the input. I’ll try to order again tomorrow. Bryan, I don’t know about the updates of availability on the MTD arinet site...

Bryan, 59M followup. Our nearest large cub dealer and Internet dealer parts lookups all show the springs, (P/N 59638-C1), still NLA contrary to your information. My initial post was an inquiry to see if someone had the springs in good enough condition to provide a brief summary of what the...

Thanks for the input, you all. I'll just take a WAG and order some from Mc&C and see how it comes out.

The springs that I previously asked information on were not the jackshaft pillow bearing springs that Kraig posted. Correct me if I am wrong Kraig, but wasn’t that from the IH Shredder/Grinder operator’s manual? An interesting sidenote regarding the illustrations from that manual, the unit frame...

Bryan, Several years ago, you posted the information and Cat. # from McMasters & Carr regarding the support springs used for the support of the main body of the shredder/grinder that you owned. I have searched the archives available for the post to no avail. Do you by chance still have that...

Matt, Going along with what Dennis mentioned, an old farm trick we used plain parrafin, (canning wax). Long before the days of PB Blaster, etc. wax was always in the machine shed. Heat the problem area enough to draw the wax into the joint. Let the wax wick all the way through the contacted...

Kraig, One more comment. The field I was clearing was over 200 yards from anything. The choice was to mount the old deck or spend 4 hours or more with a grubhoe. My example was to illustrate the design and complement of parts to make up an assembly that was designed by the engineers and a...

Dennis, This was an old rusted out deck that was used for rough cutting where I wouldn't go with my other two regular mowers. It proved to me how tough the decks were however, and this was a parts deck anyway. I totally agree, abuse or misuse is out of order. The risk is to the pocket book.

Ryan W. You may be assuming a certain amount of risk by not using the fiber discs on the blade shafts. While mowing down a patch of 2' to 3' sumac with an old 48" cancer deck, (sounded like a firing range), one of the outer blades stopped. The shaft snapped just below the sheave. It was the...

James Mac- The pictorial Charlie posted is a post 1971 deck. If your spindles are machined cast, not the clam shell steel tube type, use "Part 2 - 1968 to 1970" of the parts lookup on a model 125 48" deck for example to get in that year range. It shows you the sequence of the spacers and timken...

    982 Front PTO Balance Washer

I have a question regarding the front PTO on the 982 with the original Onan. While mowing, the sheave and friction disc broke loose from the bearing hub. I have ordered the replacement armatue (as it is called in the parts book) and hope to install it this weekend. The question is what is the...
