    are you positive it's the pump? if the trunion springs broke free it'll do the same thing.

    Some times they'll sneak back up after pressing them down,not always. But normal.

    Looking for some quick hydraulic help!

    you can still check those automatic valves. You can take a small nail and push that ball down from the tip. It should move a little less than a quarter inch. It should then spring back up on its own. If the ball doesn't move there's your problem. But I've never seen one freeze up and not leak.

    try pushing the button back up with a small nail through the tip of the valve. if it moves, exercise it back and forth with penetrating oil. If that doesn't work. I can rebuild it. We've successfully rebuilt thousands of valves over the last ten years or so. [email protected]

    Jeff B. That check ball on the left valve does look out of position. The plungers smacking the end of the valve and is now bent likely. It's trying to push the plunger out through the weep hole lol. I've straightened out hundreds of them. when they're real bad I'll just replace the plunger...

    Hydro relief valve construction observations

    I stopped welding them a few years back. The problem I would have with opening them up without cutting the lip off is that the valve body is prone to cracking. I have cracked them in the past by pressing them in place without machining them open
