Thanks Steve, Matt. I was leaning towards one of the 149's even though I will have to move the tiller or the belly blade.

I have decided to build a front end loader for one of my cubs. I have the P F Engineering plans and am about to start work. The issue right now is which cub to put it on. I have a 71, 124, 125, 127, 128, 2-149's and a 1650. All have been reconditioned, they all run and they all have a job...

I'll see if he will do that. He might not won't to mess with it though because he said that it was working great, just a little slow. He is working a virgin plot in New Mexico so the soil is hard. When I asked him if the belt was twisted between the mule drive and the 90 degree gearbox, he...

Counter rotating tillers are available and have certain advantages. They are more suited to hard soils and of course wouldn't push the tractor. Some users on the forum have reported that this a problem with hydros. I was just wondering if the PO was somehow able to convert to counter rotation...

Charlie, The question is why are they turning the other way and why are the tines installed for the reverse rotation. Without being able to see this in operation , I can't see how they would rotate backward.

My brother in law has a 1650 that he has installed a IH tiller on. He tried it out the other day and then gave me a call. (He lives in another state.) He asked me which way the tines should rotate. I don't have a tiller on any of my cubs so I told him I don't know but I would assume that...

Marlin, No I don't have access to guages like that nor do I know where to beg, borrow or steal any. Even if I did I don't know how I would power up the unit without some sort of test bench. Testing on the tractor would seem to be impossible on a narrow frame?

Marlin, I did as you suggested, applied a good shot of PT blaster on the check valves (Charlie was right they can be assessed thru the inspection plate.) and worked them up and down while engine running. They didn't appear to be sticking at all, promply popped up when released. No improvement...

Thanks for the info Marlin. I'll pull up that manual and see what it says. The hydro has new hy-tran and correct filter. If the manual has no easy fix than I guess I'll pull those valves out as you suggest. You know what a PITA that is on a 127!

Jeff, I just changed the fluid and filter on this hydro so I don't think its that. Checked the level after running awhile and topped it off. I'm afraid its something internal.

I have several hydros, ( two 149's. a 127 and a 125). The 127 is noticably slower in both forward and reverse than the other tractors. The linkage seems to be fully functional. I suppose that there is an internal problem with the hydro. Can anyone heip?
