Thanks for the advice guys but the repair described in the FAQs is light years beyond my skill level. The engine RPMs stay constant but the tractor slows down seems like the trans issue described. I have a tech that could probably do the job but it would be a winter project. Will this cause...- fboyce

Hi Guys! Finally got my Cub back today after some major work now it purrs like a kitten. Cut the yard and now I'm noticing on uphills the tractor loses its mojo. Engine runs great but seems to lose power (Trans?). Could this be a fluid issue? I have never had a hydrostatic trans tractor went...- fboyce

Is there a link to a picture or diagram as to the front pulley on the engine with spacers (i.e. exploded parts style diagram). The kohler repair manual does not have a picture of this. I think I will go with the rebuild kit for the old carb my tech can do that or I can send it out for the $50...- fboyce

Hey Guys, yes it looks to be the throttle shaft bushing. Was dealing with this when the bolt that holds the the pulley on the front of the engine backed itself out. Turns out that a previous owner used flat washers instead of the proper spacers now the bolt will not hold. I know this is fixable...- fboyce

I am getting close to to the end of repairing my cub 1650. Have had all the electrical and engine issues sorted out but am finding a carb replacement will be in order (just worn out). I can't seem to find a replacement unit (not rebuild kit new carb). Please help. Fred- fboyce

I finally got the stalling/bucking issue sorted on my 1650. Unbelievable gunk and garbage in the fuel tank and carb bowl, luckily one of the techs where I work does small engine repair and was very helpful with this. Sadly now there is another issue, the charging system is only working at 25%! I...- fboyce

Thanks Kraig! After the tractor has been running for @ 45min it will start misfiring & coughing. This is happening on a slightly sloped part of my yard where the tractor has to make a lot of corners and turns. The engine runs fine at first starts fine and does not smoke but degrades quickly...- fboyce
