Wayne - Thanks. I was planning on painting the pulley wheel IH white and maybe the three throw out clips. I'll coat the shaft with no seize gunk so it comes off easier for the next guy. Appreciate the input on the holes. Great idea. And thanks to the other guys who helped me on this issue...

Harry - Yes, I tightened the turnbuckle too much thinking it needed to be firmer when I realeased it (pushed it forward). The PTO engages/mower works when pushing lever forward. Pulling back on lever stops the PTO/mower. I must have tightened it so much that when I pulled back on it, it rubbed...

Thanks Dave. Yes, the threads were all even with the adjustment nuts. Looks like I fried the spring. I do think the thrust button being caked with melted/hardened fiber may have caused a problem too. I ordered the rebuild kit and will use the tool that comes with it. The order won't process...

The 122 mowed great for a day or two and then the deck just slowed right down where the belt barely moved. Adjusted the turnbuckle, belt tightener, etc. No movement at all. I have all the right belts. Replaced the fiber button with a brass button. Cleaned as much of the melted fiber button off...

Thanks Kraig. Appreciate the input. Looks like I’ll be taking the PTO off given the thrust button and wear button are both shot (or maybe the thrust button is ok but has a bunch of melted fiber button on it). Will check the spring and clips when I get in there.

Are there private messages here? I tried to upload pics of the PTO button on the arm and the button on the PTO itself and it said the pic is too large. I'm not quite solid on how to reduce size of pics but could use some help. If anyone wants to email or text me, I sure could use some advice. I...

Kraig - definitely. I've bought things from Charlie before. Now that you mention it, the black button looks all mushed up around the PTO button...almost like it melted? I'll take a picture today. Maybe that's why the PTO isn't engaging as well....or slipping

Thanks Kraig - I'll do all these things this weekend. If the PTO is worn out, I'll be watching plenty of YouTube videos to figure out how to replace it.

So I replaced the bolt that attaches the idler pulley and it worked great. Pics attached. Still trying to figure out how to get the PTO to engage at a faster speed to mow. The mower worked great when I first mowed but then I adjusted the turnbuckle to the PTO and the tension adjustment at the...

This is the bolt I broke. Anyone know the part or if the kit will include this part?

I thought I would tighten the idler pulley bolt (the large bolt at the top of the spring on the tension wheel/pully) as per the manual (which said there should be 3/4 - 1 1/4 inch give on the mower belt). I tightened too much and broke the darn thing. I guess I need to order a new bolt that...
