Overfilled crankcase oil can also cause this.

Will 1862 attachments work in 782?

Cyclops has added air vents in top of hood and side panels. Downside to the vents in the top of the hood is water can drain right down onto the electrical components.

Will 1862 attachments work in 782?

My 1811 bumper holes came open. The 1862 came with threaded nuts welded within the frame to facilitate bumper installation.

Will 1862 attachments work in 782?

The deck on my 1862 is from my 1811. The bumpers are identical.

Kohler Mag 20 dumping fuel again

I think we’ve all been there. Besides the bad needle design in the Walbro carbs, the design of the 82 series with the fuel tank positioned higher than the carburetor contributed to the issue. When the tank was less than half full, you were typically “safe”. If you filled fuel to the top, and...

    Tractor #6 is a 1811

The difference between the 1811 and 1812 was that the 1812 had the additional front hydro ports for a power angle push blade. As far as I seen and read, everything else was the same between the two. If the Three Point Hitch was original to the machine, it was a dealer installed option.

Best tires for traction, mowing on hills

Another hillside experience. Before owning my 1811, I had one of those MTD riding lawn mowers with a single cyl Briggs & Stratton. Mowing on a grade with those mowers will kill the engine because of the slinger oil system. The engine internals blew to smithereens, thanks to that grade. My...

Best tires for traction, mowing on hills

Be very careful on those hills. I was once jockeying up and down a hillside and jerked the hydro lever too fast from reverse to forward and the front wheels popped a wheelie and before I knew it the machine was upside down on top of me. Fortunately, I didn’t get hurt apart from a couple of...
