Is a Case dealer the only place I can buy Hy-Tran?

Charlie, Kendell, Aaytay Thanks for the info on 'using neoprene as a gasket material for the rear cover plate'. I think it is worth a try.

Has anyone ever successfully used neopreme as a gasket material on the rear cover plate of the rear end?

Lonny B. and Terry B. Thanks for info and photos on one arm loaders. I was able to find more of your photos back in August of 2006 by chance. I am a computer dummy. Dave Beck

Been looking for info and/or photos of cc single arm loaders. I am especially interested in the design of the pivot point where the arm attaches to the tractor. I swear I've seen photos of these loaders on this forum, but I haven't had any success using the "search" function. Any help would be...

I have a 1650 that I want to modify with a hydrostatic forward/reverse foot pedal. Instead of using solid rod linkage I thought of using a heavy duty choke cable. Anyone have any experience using choke cable in such an application? Also, where can I get a heavy duty choke cable? Any info...

I recently inquired about the remote hydraulic cylinder on the 1650 which is no longer available as a Cub replacement part. Today I traveled to Beiler Hydraulics in Leola, Pa. They custom make hydraulic cylinders in addition to carrying a wide array of other hydraulic components. I am pretty...

Who would have the gall to label Punxsutawney Phil an impostor? This is heresy. However, my disdain for this creature far outweighs any redeeming qualities it might have. I would be more than willing to roundup all of my freeloading groundhogs and ship them anywhere in the state of Wisconsin...

Ron S, Thanks for the info on the hydraulic cylinder. It will be a tough item to track down, as I kind of expected.

I checked with my local Cub dealer here in Pa. and one of the sponsors regarding part # IH-548040-R3 (1650 remote hydraulic cylinder)to find that this part is no longer available. Does anyone know if this part is available as an after market part and where I can purchase one? Or does anyone...

Just a few comments on the recent drought here in eastern Pa. and weather extremes. January thru the end of April was unusually wet. Since early May up to this past weekend we experienced moderate drought conditions. Rainfall was about half of the norm for that period. We received less than 1...

Charlie P. Will the engine rail cross brace dramatically extend the life of the rubber engine rail mounts? Will it prevent the engine bolts from working loose?

Charlie P. Thanks for the info on the engine rail modification. Sorry, I didn't know it was a FAQ.

Steve Blunier: Earlier you mentioned "adding a cross brace to the rails". Are you saying to weld a cross brace to the two engine rails to make it one piece?

Roy Najecki: To my knowledge these neoprene hydro seals are a do-it-yourself project. For more info on this topic check out postings (especially Richard Christensen's) over the last couple days. Richard Christensen: Now you got me thinking about other leak points. This 1250 I am currently...

Richard Christensen: Thanks again for the info on neopreme gaskets. I am sick and tired of always having to put cardboard under parked cubs to soak up transmission leaks. I am currently working on a 1250, however I have a 1650 that leaks just as bad. You are right about those cork...

Richard Christensen: When using the 1/16" neopreme for the hydro/tranny gasket what do you try to torque the bolts at when attaching the hydro? I believe the service manual calls for 30 ft. pounds of torque, and that would be if you were using a cork gasket. I don't know how critical this is...
