    My 129 Tractor was sitting idling and it just quit. No spark. It will crank just fine but no spark. I have done a new coil resistor plug and points. ??????

    The hot wire to the coil had a bare spot that was randomly grounding out on the block. I really appreciate everyone help sorting this out. You guys rock. Now I'm tackling the carb. Definitely going to need a metering rod.

    So here is where I'm at. I have replaced and set the points @ .020 New coil new capacitor ( those aren't cheap) new spark plug gapped @ .025. Tractor cranks fine still no spark. I have cleaned every contact I can find what am I missing.

    Ok so I have the tractor turning over off the key. I put a new coil and spark plug on it it cranks but still won't start. All ideas welcome

    I recently bought a cub 129. It will not crank off the key but will crank if you jump the starter. It has a brand new battery, I will be replacing the coil. Is the key switch normally a problem. Any advise is much appreciated. Attached is a pic of my little gem.

    Thanks for adding me to the group. I'm from Ontario Canada looking to get into the hobby I don't have a tractor yet but I am ready to pull the trigger on one. I am looking at a 129 with a rebuilt deck or a 1250. My question which is the better tractor in general.
