To Jim Patchett - thanks for the advice on transmission fluid. I found the Hy-Tran at a local Case dealer. The guy told me it was more like 10 than 30 weight but maybe that's because it's transmission fluid instead of motor oil.

I drained the transmission fluid from my 126 to get at a clip bracket that holds the wheel hub in place. The manual says I should get IH Hy-Tran Fluid to replace it. Is there a transmission fluid or gear oil I can buy locally that will do the job? Thanks

I want to replace the oil seal on one side of the rear axle on my 126. How do I remove the wheel hub to get at the oil seal? Will it tap out with a hammer, do I need a puller, or do I have to go inside the housing to disconnect something? Any and all advice will be appreciated. Thanks

To those who responded to my earlier post about the 126 - thanks! Still trying to navigate - it doesn't seem like this site uses "threads." Anyway, with the money I'm spending there is no way I could ever sell at a profit but I do want the tractor to be "correct" in terms of what restoring I...

I'm new to this forum. I just bought a Cub Cadet 126 in pretty bad shape but running without smoke. My neighbor and I have disassembled it and plan to have the major parts (excluding transmission and engine) sandblasted. The rest will be cleaned with wire brush, degreaser, etc. My goal is to...
