I have a ih cub cadet 782 with the kt17 series 2 motor that has gone through a few used fuel pumps over the last 18 months. Any recommendations on what after market pump is best. There seems to be a large range in prices from one supplier to the other. Is the Stens a good choice?? Should I stick...

Oh yeah forgot to mention locking collar and bearing came right off after a 3 day soak. I just had to tap a few times and the collar rotated right off and was able to get things off. Still working on the pully. It seems to be a bit tuffer. Got the time to wait so will take my time and hopefully...

Bought a cub cadet 109 a couple of weeks ago and finally able to get inside of it. I have a couple of pictures of the destroyed rod. When this occured it chipped of a chunk of cast iron from the bottom cylinder sleeve. Will I still be able to use this block for a rebuild or will I have to...

Thanks for all of the tips!! I will give it a try when I get home 2nite. My locking collar did not have a set screw in. So must have gotten locked by previous owner and either the set screw was not replaced or fell out during normal operation. I will keep ya posted on my progress.

Harry, I have attached a few pictures of my bearing locking collar and drive hub pully. My reason for this tear down is a broken rod in the engine. It looks like when it gave way the rod dented the bottom of oil pan and looks to have even cracked it a bit. But it still has oil in it, so no leak...

Got a question regaurding removal of PTO bearing lock collar and drive pully hub assembly on my kohler k241 that came out of my cub cadet 109. I have removed all of the jam and lock set screws from each hole as well as the set screws on the drive pully hub. The PTO came off just fine. My...

Picked up a cub cadet 109 this past weekend. PO said it did not run. I have attached a picture of the head. Looks like it may be blown. Where should I start?? Can I throw a battery in it and see if it might fire or should I replace the head and look at rebuilding the carb? Any suggestions would...

Coud anybody tell me if a QA 36B snowthrower will work on either my 782 or 1250? I looked in FAQ's and manuals section but could not verify what model snowthrower is correct. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance. T-

Finally got to take a look and try and find out what the issue was with my hydro. First checked all linkage for wear and bindage. All looked good. Decided to do easiest fix first and change fluid/filter! After that everything all right with hydro. My guess a blockage in filter as fluid looked...

Thanks Marlin. WIll try and get to the bottom of my problem and post back when I find the solution. I think mine has to do with linkage and wear to the linkage.

Could someone please post a picture of the correct linkage for a 782 from the transmission control lever to the hydro. I took a look at the picture they have in the cub cadet parts lookup but didnt give me much help. I would like to see what it looks like all together, so I can compare it to...

Stev, Did that and did not notice any linkage issues. I did notice a bit of oil ontop of both check valves. One thing I did notice the last couple of times I pushed snow is that the hydro lift did not seem to work very well especially when i first started pushing snow. As I went along it got...

Hydro question! Was out last week pushing snow with my 782 and had no problems with the hydro. I went out the next morning to clean up the little snow we had gotten overnight. My hydro lever had a bunch of slack in it and would move the tractor forward but only after I fully extended the lever...

Guys, will a QA42A snow thrower fit my IH 782 cub cadet or does it have to be the QA42B?? think i was once told the difference is the pully size. If so all one would have to do is change the pully to make qa42a work correctly for the 782. Is that all the modifications that would have to be made...
