Here is my WheelHorse 875. It weights 1245 pounds and it is great for plowing snow. Rear wheel weights are for traction and front weights are for a better steering on ice.
It is quite simple. Traction is directly proportional to weight and ground surface condition (or tire). The more weight is added and the better is the traction. Wheel's weight is surely better since the tractor body doesn't have the carry it. In addition, it provides a better energy storage...
The snow blower is not so heavy. I would say it doesn't weight more than 200 pounds. Since I installed 400 pounds on the back, it's well balanced. In quick forward move, the front wheels leave the ground.

I spent a long time to find a way to make it as simple as possible. It takes only 5 minutes to remove the sub chassis and the snow blower off the tractor. The snow blower can still...
The snowthrower is lift using the standard hydraulic lifting system of the tractor and the chute is remotly control using 2 12 Volts electric motors. Everything work very fine.
I have a Cub Cadet 2185 with foot control operation and this is realy great. My 1864 didn't have this very useful feature so I decided to fit one on it. This is not as easy as it seems at the first look. There is a lot of things to take care and it took me a lot of time to implement it...
