Thanks Ed, That's an incredibly good idea. I was so thinking about something that wrapped around the shaft that I missed this. Lee

Thanks Marty. It looks like we're posting simultaneously again. I think we're OK on our thoughts. The only question I have is: What does the end of a roll pin punch look like? I ordered a bunch of pins from Gamut. They offered me a roll pin punch, but called it back as it is...

Thanks Charlie. It's 122 with a Kwik-Way loader mounted. I did some more inspection. From below, there's not much to be seen as the loader frame is directly in the way. From the top, there was a plate between the seat and the control panel. I took this off and found a hacked hole in the...

We seem to bit out of phase on posting here. So, my question now is how do I drop the drive shaft out of the tractor without doing some ugly damage? Thanks again, Lee

Thanks Marty! I've read the cubfacts and it has a reproduction of the cub service manual. I'm pretty lucky because I got a copy of the manual with my cub. There's quite a bit of energy built up in main coiled clutch spring and the manual isn't clear on how to remove it harmlessly. I don't...

Hi! It's been awhile. I've been using my CC 122 over the years use to drag a trailer to my back yard to load leaves or windfall from my trees. We have had some unusual winter weather the in the last few years with dumps of really wet snow that a snowblower won't handle, the Kwik-Way loader...

Thanks Bill Jamison. My local tire dealer has pronounced my old tires as crumbling and no hope of repair. I plan to replace the tires and fluid and add some wheel weights. You're right about the Kwik-Way, it sticks out further and the bucket is incredibly robust (heavy). Thanks, Lee

I just a had blowout one of the rear tires on my 122 equipped with a Kwik-Way loader. It spilled a whole bunch of calcium chloride solution on my garage floor. Even with the ballast and a 100 lbm in the weight box and the liquid filled tires it always has been a bit light on the back end...

I may be a little late to the party. But I recognize the VR bracket on David Schwandt's tractor. This is the bracket Kwik-Way supplied so that the hydraulic reservoir for their loader could be mounted in that spot. I moved mine since it appeared to wiggle so much. When I bought my 122 it had...

Thanks for the pics Doug Barnett. A few years back I bought a CC 122 with a Quik-Way loader. You can see some pics here: http://halitelane.com/cub_cadet.html I've noticed the same problem with the brakes. I have some questions: 1)Does your tractor have external brakes? 2)Where...

Wayne - I had a similar problem on my 122 when I bought it. My guess is that the voltage cutout relay is welded closed. Take the cap off the regulator. The voltage cutout is the one on the right if you're looking at the contact side. On mine the starter would run but not charge. The field...

A thought or two on tim arthurs' blow by issue. "not alot, but its enough to blow a little oil out if the dipsticks out." The Kohler's have a flapper valve in the breather that allows the crankcase air to be pushed out when the piston goes down, but does not allow outside air to be sucked...

Matt, The suction line is really critical. After all, the pump is basically gravity fed on these. A really tight pump might pull a vacuum, but I wouldn't count on it for much. The stock KW setup has a suction hose clamped over a 1/2" nipple with a spiral hose clamp, probably 7/8" ID. The...
