Legitimate question...and the answer is no. I couldn't get this link (1x8-9 & QL Service Manual) on the home page to work for me. Is that the correct link for the 1200 model? I'll try to open it tomorrow on my laptop and not this phone. Do you have the link to the service manual you could...

That makes sense. Did you see anything in my picture (several down) of the plates assembled? The plates and friction plate didn't seem shiny to me when I put them back together but it makes me wonder if I should take it completely apart again and sand them and the friction plate. It's...

Didn't have to take out the pin for the back plate/main spring. Only had to take out the front pin to change the 3 stud clutch plate. What pushes the plates together?

It cut off my post when I added the pic, anyway. The shaft will spin when out of gear and will stop spinning when clutch is depressed. But when I put in gear and release clutch the tractor won't move and the shaft is not spinning. What makes the back plate "grab" the friction disc and the...

Guys, Still working on my Cub 1200 clutch. Got the 3 pin clutch plate replaced, put everything back together, had to replace the motor mounts with solid ones to level and keep the drive shaft from binding in the shaft sleeve on the back of the

Guys, you'all have given me some great stuff to check! When I had it out, the throw out bearing spun freely with no real play or rattle and I did fill it with grease as best as I could. The main thing I want to check now is the drive shaft possibly binding on the pilot bearing on the back of...

I'm going to use the "there are no stupid questions" excuse for being able to ask this. As much as I have fooled with this now (changing an exploded 3 stud plate) and I still don't see exactly how it works. What causes a clutch like this to "not clutch"?? Grinding into gear? Not pulling back far...

In the pic of the clutch plates I had pushed down and held the clutch to be able to show where the spring was located. Same reason the plate is loose for that pic. Thanks for all the good observations. I still haven't been able to figure this out.

The 2 pics of the throw out bearing and the spacer were taken with the clutch on the floor before being re-installed. The pic of the clutch plates and solid 3 stud plate are installed and the last pic from the rear is installed. Sorry for any confusion. This still has me stumped.

I see what you're saying, but it's just the angle of the photo. I just can't figure out what else is wrong/worn out. The clutch won't release, and I have the adjustment nut as far as it will go.
