    3000 series deck lube

After purchasing a 3000 series tractor, I was going through the pre season inspections, tune up and lubrication. I noticed everything on the tractor and deck calls for NO. 2 Lithium grease. But I couldn't find anything on the right angle gear box that drives the deck. Is it possible it requires...

Sorry, Charlie. I feel like a complete idiot now. I had read other's posts and ASSUMED that was your sponsoring site. I know that was my mistake. I apologize. But if you don't mind, who was I sending those messages to?

Charlie, I've used the "contact us" link every time, even went back through my old messages and it's the same addres. Don' know why you're not getting them.

Dennis, you're right! I DON'T want to hear that. Especially after I've already spent $130 in parts. The prices listed have went up since Dave did that, and I screwed up the first set of yokes. Now I'd have to buy a new driveshaft (already cut mine), the $140 coupler from Cub (I e-mailed Charlie...

Thanks David. I did get that clearance problem fixed. Then I ran into a more serious one, the hydro lift. There's more than just a "little" triming to do. In fact, I either need to hack some of the lift assembly off, or fabricate a new fan that will fit over the front yoke and use the same pins...

Has anyone done Dave Kemp's driveshaft upgrade on a 782 before? I ask because I just ran into a road block. During instalation, I noticed that the hydro fan hits the the brake rod. I know the fan has to be on there, but could I get away with trimming it down an 1/8" to give me the clearance I need?

Harry, I bought 3 brand new roll pins from my local cub dealer. Within an hour of mowing, I had gone through all 3! The coupler seems to be tight. Once I get the drive shaft over the input shaft and the bolt I'm using (a 1/4-20 shoulder bolt), I dont have any side to side movement, but up and...

Well Marlin, unless I'm blind, I didn't see a shaft on our sponser's pages. Believe me, I do look there first. The only problem I'm going to have on a used one, is could it be as bad as mine.....

No Marlin, the driveshaft is in good shape, it's the input shaft on the pump that is worn. The hole is not that bad, but the input shaft is certanly smaller in diameter than the drive coupler that goes over it. I know its suppose to be a little loose, but there's more play in it than what I...

Thanks Don! The only problem is I've seen hydro pumps for @ $100, while Cub Cadet is listing a replacement input shaft for over $400! And since I dont have a spare pump laying around, I'm going to have to find one anyway. By then I would imagine that its just as easy to change the whole pump...

Guys, I'm having a problem with my drive system. Where the drive shaft goes over the input shaft on my 782, I cant keep anything in to hold it together. The roll pins that it calls for fall right out thanks to the P.O. I've been using a bolt and nut to hold it, but now that's not guarenteed. The...

Charlie, speaking of bearings, what about replacements for the H42 snow throwers? I've noticed one set, but all the other bearings and even the chains are listed for the QA series. I am assuming that they are not the same. Am I mistaken?

No, Charlie, nothing wrong with the FAQ's. It's not on the first page, and I forgot about the second page.

Jeremiah, This is on a 782, and thanks. I've done the trouble shooting. It works, untill it gets hot. If I disengage the pto once it's hot, I have to wait untill it cools off (engine included) to be able to re-engage the pto. I'm 99% sure on the field coil, I was just having trouble finding good...
