I have a 1450 that I am building back up, and it had a Mallory coil on it. Will any automotive coil work on these, and/or is there any one brand that works better than others?

I am looking for the shims to shim the pulley on an ogura pto. The shop manual says to shim it .060 to .090 (I think) from the rotor, but I have not seen any parts illustrations, nor have I seen any online, that have the shims.

Thanks for the information Kraig and Ron, I can take care of that easy enough. I hope to get this thing together this summer. It's truly been alot of fun to (attempt) restore this Cub. Thanks again!

I have a question about a 1450 hydro. This is my first CC build (got this from a neighbor for free) and it was some what of a basket case, so I don't have alot to go by. This hydro unit has a broken/modified spring plate as you can see in the photo. I believe I have to remove the whole shaft to...

I was just runnin thru some of the pictures to see if I could find a good shot of how the throtle linkage is installed on a 1450 engine. I have had this thing apart for so long, I forgot how to put it back together. I'm looking for the linkage on the left side of the shroud. I can't seem to find...

Thank you Charlie and Roland. As always, you guys have all the answers and pictures that are most helpful. They answered most of my questions. However, what is the guage in the top middle of the dash? Mine is so glazed, I can't see through the front... Thanks again

I was wondering if anyone could post a picture of a 1450 hydro dash. Mine is in bad shape and I'm mot sure what it should look like with all the correct levers and guages. Also, is there a way to find tractor and engine #s on the cubs if the data plates are missing? Thanks

I'm looking for some help on an oil pan issue. I found a cast iron pan on an old 14 hp Kohler. this pan looks identical, except for two threaded holes that i'm not sure what they are for. the holes are on the side of the aluminium pan, and are horizontal. there is one on each side offset from...

I have a question about the oil pan on a 14 hp k-series (341). I found a cast iron oil pan off a older John deer, (hope I didn't offend anyone) that is a close match to the stock aluminium pan. The difference being two threaded holes that are on the side of the pan. It's been a long time since I...

Is the serial number for a Kohler engine printed anywhere else on the engine, other than the sticker? I have an engine that the sticker is unreadable, and would like to restore the engine to look new, and be correct.

Ted, I am not an expert on paint, but I just was talking to an expert earlier today. he said you should, don't have to, but should always use a hardener with single stage paint.
