Rob Dehli, I have a Cub 100 and could certainly use the QA42, last two winters both took two days for us to dig out our 400 feet to the road. Where are you located? I am in Indiana. The price is right, need to figure out if I can get to you. Thanks, DAve

Don, You might want to get rid of the gravel as fast as you can if you plan to live there long. The gravel holds the heat and will keep your AC running well into the AM during the heat of the summer. In Texas I used to have to spray down the west side of the house at night just to get the AC...

Don, Where are you in New Mexico? I met my wife in the USAF in Lubbock Texas, both our boys born there. We still consider Texas Home, and New Mexico 'kinda home'. We spent a lot of time in the San De Cristos camping. I think we've been everywhere from Silver City to Raton. I drove a GMV 1...

Matt, "If you burn "Methanol" get you wallet out because 1 gal. is probably 5.00 and you will go thru twice the amont/hr as gas. If you "pickel" the carb after each use corrosion will not be a problem." The problem here is where you get the numbers. If you purchase methanol or ethanol from...

Dennis, Well, I don't think the cost will bankrupt me, but it sure is an expense I'd rather not have. Right now I fill up 2 five gallon cans and they last me for one lawn cut running the Cub, the Crapsman, and the lawnboy push mower, with enough left to cut an hour the next weekend. Now if it...

Kraig, Thanks much, I just sent an email to a site sponser with the PNs. I think I'll work from closest to furthest till I find someone who has the parts. I appreciate it. DAve

Thanks Kraig! I need part #19 and the pulley. It looks like it had been run loose for a long time and the shaft wobbled out the pulley bore. That caused the keyway to start loosening up and everything went downhill from there. DAve

Dennis, "The diecast carb in the Kohler would be a problem since the metal is probably not reisitant to the corrosion the alcohol causes." Yea, I've kinda wondered about that. I know some older bikes had that problem, the test was to drop the carb into a pail of ethanol and wait a month...

Bruce, Yea, I looked for a tag before I posted and didn't find one. Which surprised me as the deck looks original. The owners manual didn't cover the deck (yep, I got the original owners manual with the tractor, in perfect condition). The deck would seem to be 38", triangular shaped, with...

Chris, Here is the main link for info I've been reading on fuel stills. http://running_on_alcohol.tripod.com/ Pretty interesting, his still is designed for fuel not drinking. The cooker does seem to be the real problem. I'm looking at wood, which I have plenty of, and I am thinking...

Not a new question so to speak. I am curious if anyone out there is running ethanol in their equipment? We bought a flex fuel Explorer last year, on purpose, and now we have a E85 pump in town so I'm burning E85 in the ole-Exploader. I've been reading up on fuel stills since winter and I am...

Tire bong, searched and found it. Looks easy enough, I figured the secret was to break the bead but I wasn't sure if there was a better way. Thanks Scott! DAve

Alright, last question! My 100 is quite noisey. Any recommendations on a repalcement muffler? I currently have what appears to be a standard muffler. I don't mind giving up a little HP to get the noise down as I'm spending a lot of time on the tractor cutting 5 acres. After 15 years on the...

Me again P^), Question number two, I need to get some weight in the rear of my 100. I've been told the easiest solution is to add antifreeze to the tires. Now I may be stupid, but just how do I do that? Use a tube and a funnel? A hose? Thanks, DAve
