Original cub - main frame to reduction gear case

I almost bought one of those rigid hones recently to over bore this motor. But ended up finding a local shop to do it. Would have to have 4 motors bored out to cover the cost of the tool which I may buy anyways, just not now. Machine tools sized for around the house have really seem to have...

Original cub - main frame to reduction gear case

Must have. Just wish I would have noticed how rough this machine really was when before I bought it. I knew it was rough, but not this rough. The front spindles were worn real bad, rims too, the piston cylinder was tapered, and out of tolerance - thats at the machine shop now. The main...

Original cub - main frame to reduction gear case

On a positive note, I also had an issue with the transmission. Reverse and 1st gear would not hold in gear, or in neutral positions. When I removed the reduction gear case, I found the detent ball for the shifter rail down in the sump. Was able to remove that shift rail, put the detent ball...

Original cub - main frame to reduction gear case

Thought I read somewhere that there is/was a reinforcement kit for this connection. The frame was previously “repaired” with braze at this connection point. Ive got it apart and working on cleaning up that “repair” Almost done with that process and will add reinforcement to make it sound...

Whats keeping this clutch from coming apart?

I see it now, its a different type of set screw collar then I have. Again, apologies.

Whats keeping this clutch from coming apart?

Somehow I doubt that. I meant no disrespect if it came off that way. And I always appreciate input.

Whats keeping this clutch from coming apart?

Think that set screw collar is supposed to be there. This is the cross section breakdown in the chassis manual. Think its an older design then those replacement parts. Well I got it off, but still trying to figure out how to make sure the clutch works. Looks like I need to put the assembly in...

Whats keeping this clutch from coming apart?

Original - dont know the year for sure early to mid 60’s probably. All 3 bolts to the frame have been removed, and the link from the clutch pedal is removed also. I would think it should just separate at this point. Serial number 14857 Pretty user unfriendly design for when that drive belt...

    Original cub brake assembly

Does the brake assembly ride in an oil bath along with the differential gears? Reason I ask is I noticed an oil puddle below the case directly below the brake. This was after I cleaned a bunch of grime off the tractor yesterday.

help with rebuild kit for ih cub cadet 104 10 hp k241

Have you torn the motor down and checked the measurements against the specs? You may find you dont need anything beyond gaskets, cleaning and paint, or find you need more then you think.

Original cub - no start, no nothing

Like that GMC/Chevy pick up in the background the most. 60?

Original cub - no start, no nothing

Took all the measurements, gotta replace the connecting rod too. Figured since I need the piston and connecting rod that I may as well just get a complete overhaul kit. So I ordered that with the .20 over pistons, and pressed the bearings out of the bearing plate. So it will get a total...

Original cub - no start, no nothing

All apart now. Gonna take a complete set of measurements tomorrow, then order what I need, once parts are in hand, I’ll deliver to the machine shop for over bore.
