Hi guys, Well, I pulled the head off the 12hp Kohler and sure enough, the head gasket was blown. So, is it safe to assume that either the bolts werent holding it down properly, warped head or jug, or all of the above? I must confess, I did not use a torque wrench, is it that critical?

I quit.......almostBlowing snow great, all of the sudden, sounds like compression loss, kind like a blown muffler(I wish). Put a new head gasket in not long ago, could it have blown? I always keep oil in her, check it every time. Still turns over but wont start and you can hear compression...

How much does the chute angle effect throwing performance? Mine was all the way down.

Kraig, What mods did you make to get the blower to throw so far? I actually sandblasted the chute before painting the graphite paint of it. The auger seems to spin freely as well.

My Cub snow blower doesnt throw snow worth a crap. Very disappointed. I've been using it to plow with, more than a snow blower. I've sprayed the chute with implement graphite paint and it still clogs. It'll barely throw snow over out of the way of the tractor. I go super slow and have tried...

Help, my snow blower attachment keeps clogging! I have a 36" blower and the darn chute keeps getting clogged. I tried waxing the inside, to no avail.

Ken, Thanks a ton! Is this enough to make it not want to idle?

More 1250 carb questions. How much play in the throttle shaft is too much? Mine has about .020" side to side play total. Where do you get those layered washers?

Charlie, I'll check the throttle shaft. I have the idle stop way out so I'm sure the carb isnt set too low. It's acting like it just doesnt want to run off the low idle needle?

OK, I guess I misunderstood. what do you guys mean by the throttle shaft being loose, specifically?

1250 idle problems. Throttle shaft is loose, new gasket, rebuilt carb, will check gov spring placement but it seems no matter where it goes, she wants to die at idle position.
