To all the engine guys (and gals) on this site, I'm doing an overhaul on a Cushman scooter engine. It really is off-topic for this forum, but the similarity to our Kohler K-series engines makes it somewhat applicable. So rather than take up space here, I'm posting all progress to the Smokstak forum and here is the link:

Tried to find it, no luck. Tip: Check the crank where the oil slinger is pinned to the throw - I had to replace the crank in a '58 8HP that broke across the throw where the pins were.. (Probably my fault, good running engine, but I was lugging it too much). Dennis Carpenter Cushman Catalog is your friend..

Now it says.. "The system will be off tonight for a transfer to the new board. It takes 14 hours to transfer and index drive to drive. See you tomorrow Friday, 12/6. This may end up a mess and it may not. There certainly will be loose ends to tie up. I''m sorry about the short nitice! ""

Oh well. Maybe tomorrow.?

I must have just made it in under the wire. David’s thread was at the bottom of the first page when I read through it around 4:00.
